Yep...because they had pride and cared
The fact that Scott Dann and Damien Delaney (in their prime when they played for us), are better than anything weโ€™re seeing right now, shows you we messed that window in the summer up. Those 2 are better than anything we have now

No, I did not miss the bit where he allowed an inferior ref with slow motion tech to talk him out of his experieneced judged decision !

Did you miss the bit where he (correctly) changed it to you a red? ๐Ÿ˜…

So, why did a top FIFA & UEFA ref give a yellow card ???.....Know the game !!
Iโ€™ve seen a few Palace fans talking about the lack of intent from JPโ€ฆ Iโ€™m sorry but the second his studs make contact with Van de Venโ€™s Achilles, itโ€™s good night. Thereโ€™s plenty for us to complain about atm, but weโ€™ve got to wear this one. ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ #CPFC

Mate, last thing we need at the moment
Totally missed our fans fighting each other, shame that as I love watching a good old tear up, would have beaten watching whatever that was on display on the pitch

Oliver !
Tottenham win three games in a row for the first time in over a year! ๐Ÿ”ฅ ONE word to describe Tottenhamโ€™s 2-0 win vs Crystal Palace? ๐Ÿค”

Maybe, because for once he was right ??
Alan Smith desperate for this red card to not be a red card. Why is he always on our games? #thfc #coys

Thank you ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘
I hate palace as much as the next man, but my word if thatโ€™s a red card for Mateta we may as well all give up and go home #cpfc

Quality bloke Taity, knew his best mate ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ‘Œ
EXC ๐Ÿšจ: Aston Villa are taking retrospective legal action against Paul Tait, for wearing a โ€œShit On The Villaโ€ t-shirt in 1995. #AVFC believe that the shirt directly led to their relegation in 2016 and lack of trophies over a 31 year period #bcfc

Absolute rubbish....but as a biased yid what should I expect ??

No, never have, and? Mateta knew exactly what he was doing

Never forget when he thought it was hilarious when Jesus scored an offside gooners goal in EFL cup that knocked us out !!
Anyone know why Alan Smith seems to hate us so much? I know we aren't in a great state as a club at the minute but the bloke talks like he is writing our obituary everytime! #CPFC

Well explained, and as an ex-ref, without VAR, a yellow card would be correct .
When a player is already sliding for a ball and someone comes from behind โ€” from out of sight โ€” at the last second and puts his foot in between the foot and ball, I never think that should be a red. Both zero intent and zero knowledge of a possible coming together.

BREAKING:๐Ÿšจ Aston Villa are to take legal action against channel 4 presenter Jasmine Harman after she said on an episode of 'A place in the Sun' "the villa is a bit small and lacks character".

Itโ€™s terrible officiating. Itโ€™s not a red. Mateta started the tackle before van Hecke was in his line of sight. You need to take what actually happened into account instead of just judging decisions based on screenshots.

I feel what's most harsh is that Mateta's foot is on the floor when he makes contact which is safe tackling His toes are higher, but you arent breaking someone's leg with your toes

Correct, and that is what Oliver saw in real time, deciding yellow... Absolutely no need for VAR to disect a frame by frame exercise
Replying to @PopeyeSeven
Thatโ€™s the key point. Heโ€™s so fast Mateta didnโ€™t expect him to get there

Agreed Bruce, Mateta was already sliding for the ball before Venn came in from the side of him
Course itโ€™s not blatant. Itโ€™s blatantly not a red. Zero intent.

VAR- Learn the game ! Mateta committed a lunge for the ball before Venn came from his side. Yellow given was correct, easy in slow motion !!
#TOTCRY โ€“ 12โ€™ VAR OVERTURN After VAR review, the referee overturned the original decision of yellow card to Mateta for the challenge on Van de Ven and issued a red card for serious foul play. VAR: โ€œPoint of contact is on the achilles, nowhere near the ball. Heโ€™s sprinting at speed and with intensity, the studs catch him flush on the achilles. I think it ticks all the boxes for serious foul playโ€. REF: โ€œAfter review, Crystal Palace No.14 makes full, forceful contact with the studs on his opponent's achilles. The final decision is red cardโ€.

Disasi correct red....Mateta's a joke !
Mateta and Disasi - neither of whom have any futures at this club - have likely cost Pierre Sage his job through their red cards. #CPFC
