It’s been a busy week on Oxhey ward, marking Dementia Action week. Lots of singing and dancing with the ukulele band, colouring forget me nots, making a ward favourite song play list, seated exercise and cake decorating.

To end Dementia Action Week, team members made pledges on how they will support patients in their care. Many shared the compassionate things they already do every day, which was inspiring 💙 Thank you as well to Cathy, our OT, for her excellent talk on dementia and delirium 😃

#DementiaActionWeek focus is on diagnosis. It’s vital as 1 in 3 people with dementia don’t have a diagnosis, leaving them without the care they need That’s why dedicated staff like Katie, our amazing dementia nurse, are vital supporting patients & families throughout our trust.
