The Willamette Valley wines of Le Cadeau are stellar including the ‘11 Rocheux, from a somewhat maligned very cool vintage Harvest began in late Oct yet the wines have aged very well on that bright acid

The vineyards at Pence-Santa Rita Hills The ridges run east to west here funneling cool air off the ocean This slows the ripening for Pinot and Chard allowing for optimal hang time and overall phenolic ripeness

This is an example of how FedEx throws your wine shipment around and why it’s essential that Styrofoam inserts are used I had a somewhat rare bottle of cognac arrive in pieces without it.

This is Luka, a stray that showed up at our door one day. He’s the sweetest cat, probably happy to have a loving home and we are lucky to have him. He’s so chill! I found him just sitting in the cat carrier yesterday lol.

Ok 2009 Cote de Brouilly Terres Dorees from JP Brun & I’m puzzled Yes it’s delish just a bit of brown on the rim good color fresh & lively but it could be from a recent vintage So why age Beaujolais if it doesn’t change-develop more nuance and aromatic complexity?

It will be very sad if the wines from the greatest regions world become undrinkable due to a warming climate

Well I wasn’t expecting a skin contact Pinot Grigio as the word “ramato” is in tiny unreadable letters at the bottom of the label All good I love this producer from ⁦@Regal_Wine⁩ though the nose has some funk to it-It’s also not quite as dark as my shitty pic would indicate

Saw this Pedro Parra 17 from Patagonia very lonely on the shelf in my usual haunt so I tried it and it’s fab 50/50 Cinsault Pais more lush red fruit than the 100% Cinsault Imaginador whole cluster green notes mineral bright acid low tannins-Don’t think he’s producing this now.

Gonna try Adelsheim’s 2011 Ribbon Springs Pinot Noir today 2011 may still be the coolest longest Willamette Valley vintage ever-harvest began in late October & continued in November This vintage was not well thought of but I’ve heard Ken Wright say how much he loves this vintage
