Big time college baseball has phases.
Phase 1-Nonconference games. A lot schedule easy wins to evaluate personnel. A lot of kids get to play.
Phase 2-Conference games. Limited kids get to play. Usually 11-12 position player's factor. 6 or 7 pitchers for conference weekends. Feelings get hurt.
Phase 3-Postseason play. Win or go home. The same 11-12 position players. Now pitchers 8, 9, 10 or 11 may have to be the hero. You'll see pitchers with limited innings get put in big time situations.

Let's not forget to protect this amazing, historical architecture when the opportunity arises tomorrow at 9:00 am. The fate of the Akron Times Press / ABJ building is in the city's hands tomorrow morning. Hopefully the right decision is made for preservation.
This account has been sharing some of the amazing, historical architecture found throughout #akron
Check it out! 🏫⬇️😁
I just love @JomboyMedia . Excellent breakdown here with subtle things like first move steal on a lefty, poor throw and attack by first baseman, catcher covering third base and three stolen bases on a single play. youtu.be/6vvE_YGxPhg
Great job @RoccoRoyer23 and the rest of the Wittenberg team. Our living room in Akron exploded with joy for you and the guys with that hit. Great call by the Wittenberg Sports Network.
𝙒𝙚 𝙬𝙖𝙣𝙣𝙖 𝙍𝙊𝘾𝙆!
Rocco Royer launched the Tigers to their fifteenth straight win last night with this grand slam against No. 4 Baldwin Wallace. #TigerUp

Looking forward to senior day this weekend for @wittbaseball who currently are
• 22-6 overall
• 8-0 in the @NCAC
• 19-1 in their last 20
• 3rd in the country in batting average: .363
• +134 in run differential
The playoff push should be fun! Don’t ya think? @d3baseball
5 Double plays!!!! for @wittbaseball as they take 2 games from Oberlin yesterday with great defense from @Chase_Whisner @IanAsh_27 @JamesMacauley10 @benjiseibert Luke Thomas
Safety Squeeze gone wrong! Good job @PGryskevich of @wittbaseball retrieving the bunt and making the tag. As a 3B runner here you not only have to see the bunt down…you also need an aggressive secondary and see the bunt down well beyond the front of the plate.
Today @wittbaseball is currently ranked 3rd best NCAA Div 3 team in batting average and on base % in the Country!!!!! 3rd of 386 teams. Witt Pitching is ranked 2nd in the conference. These players have been outstanding and an absolute pleasure to watch. ncaa.com/stats/baseball/d3
Great 9th inning magic yesterday against Anderson, Indiana. @wittbaseball was down 1 to start the 9th then strung SIX straight hits ultimately scoring 5 runs to get the 17-13 victory. Royer started the parade then Ash-Jackson-Thomas-Monachino-Whisner…Great job guys!
#15 @Conor_OMalley21 of @wittbaseball against Bluffton on 4/12/23. Listen to the sound off the bat!!!
#17 Luke Thomas of @wittbaseball having to play dodge-em between a Wooster third baseman and Wooster pitcher as he rounds third attempting to score on a rocket shot up the middle by @Conor_OMalley21 . Love the aggressiveness. Excellent Wooster relay. Just get out of Lukes way!
Especially on artificial turf!
The topic of catchers bouncing the ball to second came up again so I thought I’d share some highlights of one of, if not THE best throwing catcher in baseball bouncing his throws to second… a lot.
It is 100% ok to bounce your throws!
