Forget-me-not fun fact: the yellow ring at the flower’s centre fades to white after pollination, signalling to insects there’s no more nectar. The insects therefore learn to visit the flowers that haven’t yet been pollinated, ensuring no forget-me-not flower is forgotten 🤙

What a fun time with Mrs. Besaw’s advisory! At the end of the day one student said, “ I’m really going to miss my new friend!”💓

Installed a pulley today. Kindergartners were so curious to see what natural materials they could place in it! #curiouslearners #lessonsinthewoods #eco

A walk in the woods and and some hot cocoa with the Kelly Kettle is the best way to start the day! ☕️

!Migration Alert! The forecast is for 300+ MILLION birds in the air over the U.S. each of the next three nights, according to @DrBirdCast. Try turning off nonessential lighting, and treating reflective glass to help protect birds. Learn more: birdcast.info/science-to-act…

Hummingbirds are the only birds in the world that can fly backward. They flap their wings in a figure-eight pattern. #NaturePBS

Listening for birds and then marking them on our map. This could be a fun thing to continue each time we are out to see how many species we find!
