When we see hazy skies, we should recognize that the danger is not just to us, but to all living creatures.
The past few weeks have been a stark reminder for many across Canada: wildfire smoke is no longer a distant threat. Hazy skies, a lingering scent of burning wood, and a general sense of unease have become common companions as smoke from wildfires drift across the continent.
The boreal forest is Canada’s biggest climate asset and we’re mowing it down and watching it burn at the same time.
Tag, email, phone and meet with your MP to tell them to:
- Accelerate action to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from all sectors of the Canadian econom
- Advance Indigenous cultural practices and sovereignty
- Support the transition to ecologically sustainable forestry
