Villain or was. My life is sort of grey.
The air smells of rain and asphalt, and my boots make no sound against the cool concrete.
No one sees me coming. No one stops me.
A whisper of a laugh escapes me. “You can try to catch me,” I murmur to the empty night, “but I’m always three steps ahead.”-
In the quiet moments I remember why I am doing this.
My children do not deserve to see the monster I became nor does Peter. The more I hide the more I feel this decision is right.
