Nevada’s Constitution is hard to change on purpose. A ballot initiative must pass twice to become law. Nevada is the only state that requires this. That’s why two questions are back on the November 2026 ballot. Q6: Right to abortion up to fetal viability, or later to protect life or health. Q7: Require ID to vote. Both need one more yes vote. A mailer is calling third-party Nevada governor candidate Danielle Ford the “AOC of Nevada.” Jon Ralston has called her a non-serious candidate who appears to be a plant. Ford, a State Board of Education member, has rejected the claim. While running as a nonpartisan, she supports abortion access and has past endorsements from groups including the Nevada State Education Association, SEIU, Moms Demand Action, and the Progressive Leadership Alliance of Nevada. Polls show her around 6%.

Just a few seats decide which party is in charge of Congress. That has made Nevada’s competitive races national targets for out-of-state money. The state is roughly split in voter registration, but Democrat-friendly maps and the Independent American Party, which draws votes from Republicans, help Democrats hold three of four House seats. They seek to take all four this midterm. One close result can shift control of the agenda in Washington. Src. nevadapoliticaljournal.com/n…
