Sorry, but I’ve got to have a small rant here, and I know it's the first race weekend.
Yes, we’re at one of the worst tracks for energy harvesting and recharging, but seeing cars slow down massively halfway down a straight just isn’t F1.
I don’t really have a problem with the chassis rules or the aero (if you look past the active aero). The problem is clearly the PU regs.
A 50/50 or 53/47 split was always going to be difficult once they removed the MGU-H. These cars are energy-starved. They could go much quicker through T9-10, but the PU just doesn’t allow it.
The cars are lighter, more nimble, and generally look nicer to drive than the stiff, low-to-the-ground ground-effect cars from recent seasons. With a different engine split — something like 65/35 or 70/30 — they could’ve been really nice.
🚨 | The FIA has banned teams from using different wheel rim specifications for qualifying and races from 2027.
The move aims to prevent a development arms race, as teams have explored rim designs to optimise tyre temperatures.
Ferrari and McLaren have both pursued such gains, prompting concerns over escalating costs.

The moment Ferrari realizes what they have in their hands right now is the moment they will succeed
"One example is, you know, old friend and driver of mine, Lewis Hamilton. You have two axles, a front axle, a rear axle, and you have the chassis in between. And when you call a car understeer, it means when you turn the wheel and it goes straight, and that happens over the tires in the front axle, it's pretty normal"
"But Lewis once said something when talking about the car, 'The car understeers from the front axle to where I sit.' Well, that's the middle of the car, how can that understeer? And the engineers couldn't really identify what he meant. But that is what his body told him, or his brain told him the car is doing"
I’m sorry for being away for a while, had some unexpected things to take care of.
Should be back to normal before the weekend starts! 👊🏼
Hamilton wants to gamble.
📻 | Lewis Hamilton: “Can I hold position?? If I pit what do I lose?”
📻 | Santi: “We are losing 2 positions with the delta plan.”
📻 | Lewis Hamilton: “But if we’re already losing 2 positions should we wait and see if a VSC comes out?”
📻 | Santi: “We can try.”
Wait. Is Lewis pointing to not pitting under the VSC or after that?
I can understand not pitting after the VSC, not pitting under the VSC is just awful from everyone involved.
I’m sorry what?? Lewis decided to not pit under the VSC.
Okay. Well done Lewis. Didn’t put it on pole yesterday which you should have and now you throw away a P3.
Head is hot. See you guys in Austin.
📻 | Santi: “We finish P6. Max won the race, Charles second, Antonelli third, Norris fourth, Piastri fifth.”
📻 | Lewis Hamilton: “Sorry, boys. I let you down today with that strategy… my call… lost us valuable points. I’ll try and make up for it in the next one. Great job with the pit stops.”
📻 | Santi: “Understood. Thank you, Lewis.”
Lewis couldn’t have done anything different today. He’s been royally shafted by Ferrari, by everyone associated with Ferrari.
What are they doing with Lewis?? Santi just said they don’t think they’ll have the life to go to the end.
Here comes a VSC but let’s not put him 😂😂
I can’t with this team.
Well, that answers that. xitter.cf/thrtysvnth/status/2109…
So they’re two stopping then? But yes let’s make him sit behind 👏🏼😂
I can’t with this team. Incompetence at the highest level.
📻 | Lewis Hamilton: “What’s the goal here??? What’s the plan?? I have no idea what the hell we are doing!”
📻 | Santi: “We are on Plan B.”
📻 | Lewis Hamilton: “I KNOW we are on Plan B. What are other people doing mate?!?”
📻 | Santi: “Everyone else is one stop.”

Ferrari need to swap NOW.
The Soft is faster AND lower degradation.
Don’t just assume it’s a 2 stop and he’s not a threat if a SC happens.
Cars on Soft now need to take a rubbish Medium or an even more rubbish Hard.
