ALT The US has at least 44 states and territories with COVlD outbreaks. The CDC made large, upward retroactive corrections to prior estimates, and we are now in an apparent secondary peak. States with observed outbreaks include Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Guam, Hawai’i, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, U.S. Virgin Islands, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, and Wyoming. Additional states with poor monitoring likely have outbreaks based on high levels in bordering counties in adjacent states.

ALT The US has 9 hotspots. There are major outbreaks in Central/Southeast Texas (High/Very High) and Guam (Very High). Other spikes are at individual wastewater sites: Summit County, Colorado (Very High); Tompkins County, New York (Very High); Lincoln County, Maine (Very High); Fresno County, California (High); Jackson County, Mississippi (High); Barbour County, Alabama (High); and Swain Country, North Carolina (High). Note, New York state only has two CDC sites reporting; their state-run dashboard suggests the outbreak may be more isolated than depicted here.

ALT This grouped bar chart, titled "COVID Positive Abnormal Chest CT by Air Quality Setting", displays the percentage of abnormal chest CT scans among COVID-positive patients across three different tiers of air quality control. The graph compares overall and asymptomatic cases, illustrating a clear downward trend in the percentage of abnormal scans as air filtration and ventilation efficiency improve from household levels to high-efficiency aerosol control.
