ALT Community members after a meeting for the PXU safety committee at Central High School. We discussed safety and security concerns for students, staff, and families; and how solutions to these concerns cannot, and should not, be resolved by more School Resource Officers. By explaining the harms of over-policing, defunding public education, and lack of wrap-around services available to current students, we brought to the forefront the root causes needing to be addressed for true safety in school.
