“The road gives you the scenarios. Simulation lets you test them again and again.” That was one takeaway from PlusAI COO and Co-Founder Shawn Kerrigan’s discussion at HumanX Amsterdam. For autonomous trucking, we believe real-world driving experience and simulation are not either/or. One can capture the social complexity of driving, and the other helps validate the AI driver against rare and challenging scenarios at scale.

Thank you to Autonomous Vehicle Industry Association (AVIA) for hosting a great Autonomy Summit in Austin. @theavindustry PlusAI CEO and Co-Founder David Liu joined Dan Van Alstine, former President and COO of Ruan Transportation Management Systems and a member of PlusAI’s Safety and Policy Advisory Council, for a fireside chat on the path to commercializing autonomous trucking. Key takeaways: 🚛 We believe autonomous trucking is moving from demos toward deployment, and expect the harder challenge to be scaling safely and reliably inside real freight operations. 🚛 Safety must be built on evidence, which could include structured safety cases, rigorous validation, and transparent reporting on readiness. 🚛 Commercial scale requires collaboration across AI developers, OEMs, fleet operators, regulators, and the broader freight ecosystem. 🚛 We expect clear regulatory frameworks will be important for scaling across the US.

At IAA TRANSPORTATION, one question kept coming up: autonomous trucking is getting closer to commercial deployment, but what does it take to move from launch to real scale? As PlusAI COO and Co-Founder Shawn Kerrigan put it: “What will be really exciting is as we go from that launch phase to the scale phase.” We believe that at that point, we will move from the deployment of tens or hundreds to potentially thousands of autonomous trucks. That shift brings a different set of challenges: factory-built vehicle integration, validation across truck platforms, global operating environments and regulatory consistency. We pulled together a few takeaways from Shawn’s discussion with leaders from Bosch, Kodiak and Volvo Autonomous Solutions at IAA Transportation 2026. Have a read: plus.ai/news-and-insights/20….

Yes, there really were 40,000 pounds of sand in those trailers. And yes, there’s a reason. 👇

Safety is foundational to bringing Physical AI into the real world. At PlusAI, this is especially important for autonomous trucking, where AI systems must be validated across hardware, software, AI behavior, and operating environments. We’re excited to work alongside NVIDIA and the broader ecosystem to help advance safe, real-world autonomy. @NVIDIADRIVE
Physical AI can only scale as fast as safety scales with it. 🦺 Lessons from more than a decade of autonomous vehicle safety work are helping shape how robots are designed, validated and deployed alongside people. Learn how NVIDIA Halos is helping: nvda.ws/4rlylLn

PlusAI is proud to be part of Arm Total Design for Physical AI. Delivering Physical AI at scale means getting increasingly complex technologies across the technology stack to work together, from cloud and AI software to compute, operating systems, sensors, tools and devices. Today, many of these technologies are still developed and validated independently, creating integration complexity as companies move toward complete, production-ready systems. That’s where this program matters. By bringing the ecosystem together means partners can collaborate on how solutions that are built, optimized and validated, helping reduce integration complexity and accelerate deployment. We’re looking forward to working alongside Arm and the wider ecosystem to help move the next generation of Physical AI systems forward.
Introducing Arm Total Design for Physical AI — bringing an inital 80+ companies together around a shared goal to accelerate physical AI from development to deployment. One of the first initiatives is a Robotics Capability Framework, creating a common language for defining increasingly intelligent and capable robotic systems. The next frontier for AI is the physical world. We’re helping the ecosystem get there faster. okt.to/dQ3xMC

We announced today that PlusAI has entered into a definitive business combination agreement with Texas Ventures Acquisition III Corp. Upon closing of the transaction, the combined company will operate as PlusAI. The transaction comes as PlusAI enters a period of accelerating commercial momentum. We are actively operating autonomous freight routes in Texas with Ryder and International and working with global truck manufacturers, including TRATON, Hyundai and IVECO, to advance the commercial launch of factory-built autonomous trucks integrated with SuperDrive™ targeted for 2027. As David Liu, Co-Founder and CEO of PlusAI, said: “This transaction validates a year of significant execution and operational milestones for PlusAI. We are operating autonomous freight routes in Texas today, expanding our OEM partnerships, and successfully monetizing the proprietary data, models and simulation capabilities we have built over the past decade. HyperFoundry is generating revenue today while SuperDrive advances toward commercial launch in 2027. We believe this combination of near-term revenue, a capital-efficient software business model, and a clear path to large-scale autonomous trucking deployment uniquely positions PlusAI for long-term growth.”
