Between 07-09.04, the 1st international conference #AdvMicro2025 took place, where Prof. Magdalena Plotka was a member of the scientific committee. It was a great event rich in many new scientific experiences. We thank the organisers and hope for the next edition!
January was marked by the promotion of science among children and youth. We participated in the "Night of Biologists" (Noc Biologów) and conducted workshops for high school students from Gdańsk.

On September 5-7, the III Bacteriophage Symposium took place in Gdańsk. Our group leader Magdalena Płotka gave a presentation on Modular Lytic Enzymes (MLE), which we are working on. Aleksandra Kocot and Karolina Ciemińska presented posters on MLE-19 and RAP-29 peptide.
The 9th International Weigl Conference was held on July 27-29 at the University of Rzeszów. Karolina had an opportunity to present the results of Ts2631 endolysin thermostability. We are very grateful for such a great conference with a such variety of topics!

We had an opportunity to do workshop about Microbiology for tudents from Highschool nr 8 from Gdansk. They made throat swabs and spread it on Chapman's agar and other media. They listened to interesting lectures about bacteriophages and met with Gram-staining.
Last week Karolina Ciemińska had opportunity to take part in II edition of Phage Therapy Workshop at Queen Astrid Military Hospital.
Now we know current problems in phage therapy and how to isolate, propagate and prepare phages for patients.
Are synthetic phages our future?
#FEMS #summerschool for Postdocs took place 4-11.09. this year in the Mediterranean Institute for Life Sciences in Split, Croatia.
It was an intensive week of learning but our group member Aleksandra Kocot could also meet new friends.
II Bacteriophage Symposium took place 07-09.23 in Gdańsk (Poland).
This time our group presented a poster about molecular characteristic of Ts2631 endolysin thrmostability.
What is very important - Polish Society for Research on Viruses of Microorganisms was created this year.
III Young Science Congress at University of Gdańsk lasted from July 06-08.
We opened a panel "Novel strategies to combat bacterial pathogens".
We presented our results about:
- mechanism of Ts2631 endolysin thermostability;
- characterization of potential amidases CT4 and GasC
