TURKISH MAFIA WAR: BAYBAŞIN FAMILY HEIR SHOT SEVEN TIMES On 30 December 2025, Çağdaş Baybaşin was shot in Düsseldorf, Germany, shortly after attending a protest calling for his uncle Hüseyin Baybaşin’s release from a Dutch prison. Ten shots were fired at his taxi and seven bullets struck him. He miraculously survived and, thank God, has made a full recovery. The trial of three defendants began in Germany in September 2026, with a fourth suspect reportedly being sought. THE FEUD: 600KG OF COCAINE AND A “KISS” POST In May 2024, İlmettin Aytekin, known as Tekin Kartal, was murdered in Barcelona shortly after dining with Abdullah Baybaşin. Turkish media have linked the killing to a disputed 600kg cocaine shipment. In August 2025, Daltonlar figure Caner Koçer was shot dead in Torrevieja, Spain. Reports claim a provocative “kiss” post by Çağdaş, reportedly connected to Koçer’s killing, fuelled tensions between rival groups. The Daltonlar, Tolhildanlar and Gündoğmuşlar have been linked in media reports to an alleged alliance behind the attack on Çağdaş. TNT Süleyman has also been named as an alleged organiser. ENTER “SPEEDY NACI” Naci Yılmaz, known as “Speedy Naci” or “Siirtli Naci,” has been described in Turkish media as a rapidly rising international trafficking figure, allegedly building wealth and influence through connections to major trafficking networks. Some reports link him to Bolle Jos, described in media coverage as a major European cocaine figure. One theory is that Naci could benefit from the weakening of the old guard and emerge as a dominant force in the Turkish underworld. ABDULLAH BAYBAŞIN RESPONDS In a video after the attack, Çağdaş’s father thanked God his son survived, said he had serious doubts about the story being told, and declared he would never sit down with those responsible and was ready for whatever came next. He did not name Naci. Meanwhile, Çağdaş’s uncle Hüseyin issued a forceful message on X, vowing revenge against those responsible. I hope to sit down with Çağdaş one day and hear his story directly, in his own words. The German trial could reveal more about a violent feud stretching across Europe.
