ICL scraps EVM-compatibility We were genuinely looking forward to the Cosmos Hub becoming an EVM consumer chain. It would have helped bring more developers and retail users into the broader Cosmos and ICL ecosystem. This is something that benefits everyone, especially Planq Network. But we understand the decision. Resources are limited and ICL is making focused bets. We respect that. That said, for any EVM teams left looking for a home, Planq is open for you. We are mobile-first, IBC-connected, and production-ready. If you want to launch fast without compromising on UX or decentralization, we are here. We will also keep working with ICL to improve the Cosmos EVM stack because we believe in its potential. What We’ve Been Working On A few weeks ago, we shared that the current direction of Planq wasn’t cutting it in the 2025 web3 landscape and that we were going back to the drawing board. Since then, we’ve been quiet for a reason: we’ve been plotting... Now we’re ready to talk about what’s next. First off, Planq is not over. Not even close. We’ve expanded our development capacity and started building something that we believe has real potential to push this network forward in a meaningful way. Let’s break it down. We’re working on a new app. Something you could loosely compare to WeChat, but with Telegram-style bots. This app will be mobile-first, desktop-friendly, and deeply integrated with the Planq ecosystem. The idea is simple. Give people powerful tools they can actually use, without being at the mercy of app stores. Just like on Telegram, anyone can build bots, but here, those bots can interact directly with the Planq blockchain and the outside world. This app will include: - Physica Finance, with new features and long awaited big fixes, thanks to our increased developer capacity - The community token launchpad - Built-in stable payments via Astonic, directly in chats. You’ll be able to send money to your friends and family. - Private and group chat features, group NFTs, AI bots to summarize the group lore, vibe checkers, token raffles, and whatever else we can come up with. Over time, we want this to evolve into a full-on payment app. But for now, we’re focused on getting the core right. Useful tools, real utility, and a product that people actually want to use. A question we’ll probably get asked is what will happen to Castrum. The truth is that we don’t think we can compete in the wallet space, so this will not be a focus point for us moving forward. The same can be said for Delta Swap, which will be discontinued in the future. The goal isn’t just to build another crypto app. We’re building something that has a real business model, makes sense outside of the echo chamber, and creates long-term impact for $PLQ. Details about the business model will be shared, and are yet to be finalized. As always, we’re open to ideas. If you want to help shape this new direction, we’re here for that conversation. The Future of Planq Network The Web3 landscape has changed dramatically over the past six months. Many projects are winding down or struggling to survive, and it’s clear that the space will never be the same. This shift has pushed us to take a hard look at our direction, both strategically and from a development perspective. After many internal discussions, we’ve come to a clear conclusion: the current path we’re on isn’t enough. If we want to stay relevant and grow, we need to focus on building something that is profitable, sustainable, and actually used. In the weeks ahead, we’ll be rethinking what Planq should stand for and how we can grow into a meaningful player in this space. We also want to acknowledge something important. We’re sorry for the lack of communication around this lately. We’ve always aimed to be as transparent as possible, but the truth is that we needed time to step back and figure out where to go from here. We are currently exploring several new directions. These include stronger real world use cases, better mobile first adoption, and products that are more aligned with the needs of the community. Nothing is final yet, but we are committed to finding a path that makes sense in the long run. That said, all existing Planq products will remain online and fully operational. CEX and DEX listings, as well as liquidity, are unaffected. No worries there. We are not abandoning Physica, Castrum, or any of our other products. We are simply re-evaluating where our efforts are best spent to support the growth of the network. We are also open to having this conversation with the community, so feel free to share your thoughts of where Planq should be going.
