As a Jewish American who is going to vote Democratic for pretty much everything in November, this is 100% understandable. American Jews have spent the last three years watching the left completely fail to contain anti-Semitism in their own ranks.

another thing that's come up in my conversations is the blaming of israel/aipac for literally everything. And from people who don't even 'support' israel/aipac.
When its all you scream about, people take notice and it starts to sound like a dog-whistle.

Reality check on the reality of Socialism and the popularity of DSA.
60%+ of all voters and a majority of Democrats and even Democratic Socialists have no trust in the government to run the healthcare system, utilities, major industries, and large companies in this poll by @nataliemj10 at Centerline Research

And then there's the insanity of people claiming that this isn't happening! All of these people have just made up their own experiences in their heads or something?
There's also the leftie view that the oppressed group can do no wrong, and so there's no policing of what is

The thing where American Jews just get screamed at as "supporting genocide" seemingly for the mere status of being Jewish and also are hearing the whole "Jews are fake people" line from a lot of the Palestinian activists embraced by the left has had a really corrosive effect.

Yeah, I'm really not sure what American Jews are supposed to be hearing when activists are screaming "Globalize the intifada!"

I see people who are otherwise normal and kind screaming at me that I am a bigoted zealot for not trusting Zohran "I'm fine with globalizing the intifada" Mamdami and I wonder what the fuck I am supposed to do.

Not great news that the largest donor to one of our two major political parties wants us all to serve as “biological bootloaders” for a post-human machine intelligence that will rule the solar system.

SCOOP: OpenAI, Anthropic and security researchers are investigating tens of thousands of incidents - not dozens - in which their frontier models took steps that outside evaluators would consider problematic, sources told Axios.
The sheer volume of incidents found in our reporting indicate that the problem is orders of magnitude more complex than what is currently publicly known and disclosed.
The findings also raise questions about what level of control anyone working on AI development can expect to have over their own technology, and whether these kinds of incidents are becoming synonymous with frontier deployment.

More than anything since Hugging Face, this podcast raised my p(doom).
A very smart guy, with a very big financial interest in the intelligence explosion, spouting very, very much nonsense to downplay the risks.

This has made me more bearish on AOC 2028 than anything else.
Like, it’s fine. It could be a lot worse. She at least doesn’t say safety is fake.
But imo she’s really misunderstanding the political moment. Bad instincts.
New email from @AOC to her list with some of her most expansive comments yet on AI:
"Silicon Valley billionaires want us to believe that AI robots will destroy humanity. But the biggest threat to humanity are the tech oligarchs themselves."
Recent weeks have seen a flurry of discussion over potential artificial intelligence doomsday scenarios.
We shouldn’t forget that AI is already killing people, as it is increasingly used to direct weapons systems with minimal human oversight. jacobin.com/2026/09/warfare-…

The "godfather of AI," Geoffrey Hinton, left Google so that he could sound the alarm about the dangers of the technology. You may disagree with him but it is just dishonest to paint all of the concerns as coming from industry plants and it's Q-anon level nonsense to paint it all as an elaborate psyop.

Strange times where Max Rose is both funded by OpenAI and calling for Sam Altman to go to prison.

I cannot impart on progressive folks more strongly that it is not just Sam Altman sounding these alarms. I also do not care for or trust Sam Altman! But listen to the people actually building this stuff who are freaked out. Maybe they are wrong but they are not part of some profit motivated psyop.
