5. You smooth out the paper and read the note. It says:
“Stay for sanctuary
Go with God
Maybe we’ll make it through”
4. You reach through the hole. In the small gap between the drywall and brick, you find a ceramic mug shaped like a wolf’s head. The nose and one of the ears are chipped.
Inside the mug is a wadded up piece of paper.
Thank you for the shoutout!

3. You wait for the sun to go down, for the children to go inside, for your headache to abate.
Some of the drywall on the eastern wall has broken off, exposing the century-old brick underneath.
2. Inside the duffle bag are two changes of clothes, a passport, a bottle of aspirin, a water-purifying straw, and an unopened deck of playing cards
1. You are standing in the guest bedroom of an empty house. It’s late afternoon, and light streams through the shadeless windows.
Outside, you see children playing in the street. They chase each other relentlessly and shriek with delight.
On the floor is an open duffle bag.
Omg, life reeeealllly got in the way with this one! Anyway, episode 5 is finally out wherever you find your podcasts. Hope you enjoy!
Priorities at the end of the world: here’s another teaser for episode 4.
