I have gone viral on reddit (on the front page) over 20 times and I wanted to share my tips to #reddit success 👇🏼#buildinpublic 1️⃣ Timing is CRUCIAL. Post at the right time of day. 🧌 You will only get on the front page if you get upvotes quickly (in the first hour - see point 4) 🧌Luckily, there is a formula that helps. Use this site (I am not affiliated) to get the best time to post: delayforreddit.com/analysis/… 🧌Just make sure you’re there to respond to comments over the first few hours, it’s important for the algorithm 2️⃣ Know your audience and follow the subreddit rules. This means: 🔺Don’t post a video game to the board games subreddit, as an example. 🔺Every subreddit has a strict set of rules, you need to make sure a random mod won’t mute you (which happens all the time). Follow the rules to a T and to help your chances, make sure you engage with other posts. 3️⃣ Tell a story - NEVER SELL YOUR PRODUCT. 🐟 Everyone, but ESPECIALLY redditors hate being sold to. If they get a whiff of a sales pitch you will be demolished and sent to the naughty corner. This means: no blasting your product name ESPECIALLY in the title, no discount codes unless through DM’s or a comment reply if requested, no generic / repeated responses. Just avoid using AI entirely because they will be able to tell and you will regret it. 🐟 Use common language that is appropriate to the subreddit. If you’re on the lord of the rings subreddit then talk about Sauron, not Hagrid, but don’t overdo it. 4️⃣ Get upvotes early on (first 20 minutes). 🌻 The reddit algorithm highly favours trending posts. You need to try to get a quick amount of upvotes and comments within the first hour, preferably 20 minutes. 🌻 Send the post to your friends to upvote, but don’t manipulate the votes because you’ll be caught out and be shamed (🔔,🔔) 🌻 Honestly, sometimes it’s just luck. Don’t be afraid to delete your post and try again. If you have consistent fails and are questioning your life choices, try a different subreddit, time, or change up your post. 5️⃣ Focus on high value subreddits. 🔺 Subreddits have a subscriber count. Have a look at the front page of the subreddit to quickly find out if it’s stale or not. Bumping communities have consistent posts with thousands of upvotes. 🔺 There’s an awesome site (I’m not affiliated) called Gummy Search that you can use for free to find your audience, because reddit search is trash: gummysearch.com/
