So so proud if my class. They absolutely loved teaching the residents of the care home their signing song. They also stayed for a little while after the performance and just had a wee blether.
Today, our P1s visited a local care home and taught the residents some BSL. I'm so proud.
Thanks to @l80pdn for enthusing young and older learners.

“The simple language change from “challenging behaviour” to “distressed behaviour”, at @PitteucharE , has been incredibly helpful for so many of us in changing how we interpret & approach behaviour.” I told more schools abt @JKnussen & her team today. tes.com/magazine/archive/beh…

The Residency Sessions are back on the road this week as our Autumn Term tour gets underway! So delighted to be working with @FifeMusic this week as we visit 9 schools, meeting hundreds of p1-3 pupils, before delivering teacher training & leading a mass strings day on Fri. 🎶🏴

Loved starting #transition to @AuchmutyHS sessions with @PitteucharE P7s.
When there are big changes afoot, knowing & feeling you are precious is steadying.
What a lovely school full of care & nurture. You can feel it ❤

Jordan was a former pupil @PitteucharE . A lovely bairn with loads of talent & a smile that lights up a room. Delighted to see he's been bitten by the music bug!
I imagine the pipes were very poignant today.
Music is a soundtrack to our lives 🎶🎶❤️

3. And LOOK at the difference it makes - simply telling the story of what one school @PitteucharE is doing to support children's emotions. This is the feedback from attendees in London. "So simple, but I can see how transformative it could be for staff and for children."

Grateful for the way in which my colleagues @PitteucharE understand and model this. Every interaction. Every child. Every day. ❤

A true privilege to be an advocate for your school @PitteucharE, Jenn. I love being part of big choir where lots of people go on about connection.
If it hadn't been for @suzannezeedyk , our school's story might not have been told. #Grateful to her for her confidence & friendship.
Hopefully, after restrictions ease, there will be more audiences. Ripples into waves, as Suzanne will tell you!❤️

Six years ago tonight. @JKnussen telling her story of the language of 'distressed behaviour' publicly - for the first time. I was so excited for her to share it with that audience of 100 people at the @ScotStoryCentre .
It's hard to believe this was only 6 years ago. The start of the journey to bring our story to other people. And what a journey it has been! @suzannezeedyk @connectedbaby @bainsfordht @realdcameron @pauldixtweets @Prev_Justice @ACE_HUB_DandA @paulinescott222 @Sharlenedavisx

"It was a revelation I'd had....I went back to my Depute & said: 'I cannot think of a single episode of 'challenging behaviour' that was not driven by distress. Can you?'" said Headteacher @JKnussen at my #10YrsConnection event.
A story of a school's change that bears repeatng.
