Not a bad spot to join an @orientbirdclub Council meeting with views of porpoise, puffin, peregrine and seals on the agenda! @OuseFenBirder @guigna1961 @EdgecombeM
Top marks for trying for this Brimstone! Not observed this behaviour before but thinking about it I don't see that many dead butterflies @savebutterflies

Day 24 of the 2022 #dragonfly #AdventCalendar. Last but not least, the Large Red #damselfly is the first species to emerge in numbers across the UK each year. Common everywhere including garden ponds. Christmas is almost here, roll on April!
Day 24 #AdventCalendar One of my favourite bird families, kingfishers, we saw three very different species in Costa Rica, from the large Ringed and smaller Green to the petite American Pygmy Kingfisher. I particularly like the expression of the Ringed Kingfisher in the rain!

Day 23 of the 2022 #dragonfly #AdventCalendar. Southern #Damselfly looks very like the common Azure damselfly. It's very rare in the UK, found in a few parts of southern England and in South Wales. It's a protected species. This was at Crockford Stream in the New Forest in June.
Day 23 #AdventCalendar For everyone who liked the antbirds yesterday, here are the ants they were following. This is just one of the many trails that formed the swarm taking about 45 minutes to cross the track. We had wellies on! Antbirds are calling softly in the background.
