The Assisted Dying Bill returns to Parliament next week.
As before, I will vote against this legislation that is severely flawed and puts vulnerable people at risk.
What people need at the end of life is dignity, compassion and proper support, and that means properly funding palliative care.

We need to invest in our NHS and palliative care. Currently, palliative care is a postcode lottery, and this needs to stop.
This week I hosted an event with Care in Crisis, Disability Rights UK and the Greater Manchester Coalition of disabled people, who echoed concerns about palliative care funding that I have heard repeatedly, including the need for the Government to fund hospices' core services.
With the Assisted Dying Bill in parliament next week, I will keep pressing for the Government to ensure that hospices have fair and sustainable funding.

This is a deeply complex and literally life-changing Bill.
We’re no longer talking about the principle – this is real, and it is not safe.
The Assisted Dying Bill returns to Parliament on 11 September.
Watched infected blood scandal on ITV. I have a friend who is a victim of this national disgrace. These brave men fight for those who have died and those who live with life limiting effects of avoidable harm. Shame on all those involved. @IBCA_UK Compensation now @bloodinquiry

#infectedbloodscandal We should be ashamed. Too many have already died and those who are alive, feeling guilty for surviving. I have an old friend who survived Trelors and he deserves justice. @BBCBreakfast thank you for bringing this back to our attention.

I am passionate about our NHS and have always wanted to get involved with @NHSEngland in a workforce or patients safety role.
But I wrote this article knowing that publishing it would probably stop that happening as they are unlikely to appoint someone who is so openly critical.
But sometimes the civil servants detached from the reality of front line work need to be reminded about the dangers and risks of their actions.
In A&Es up and down the country our sickest patients are suffering in pursuit of hitting arbitrary targets in order for the politicians to gaslight the country about the state of emergency care in the NHS.
I expect nothing less from our current government.
But what saddens me most, is that senior people who work for @NHSEngland have just acquiesced to unacceptable practices and not spoken up against blatant political interference in patient care priorities. – at Hove, England

Devastated for these families bearing the brunt of this disgusting attitude towards disabled children. Yet this is our reality. It's more common than you think, unless you live it. Exclusion is more common than inclusion. #DisabilityTwitter
