The seasoned diplomats and old war planners on BOTJ sides are now home, seeing it play out on television. The chairs are filled by different men now. In Iran, the IRGC commanders are operating on fear, anger and martyrdom after a year of losses and assassinations. They have public said that in this war, they seek victory, and even in death, they are still victorious. You cannot beat a General or an Army who seeks death at your hand. America has never fought a proper determined military who seeks death, not even in Vietnam. This is truly a new territory for the American war machine. Their Pentagon counterparts are new, hungry, and trying to make a name I dare say in their first real war where their entire roster of mentors since 1979 have dreamt of the day they can be the one that made Iran collapse militarily. Fear on one side, ambition on the other, thin experience on both. But both are determined to leave a legacy in the sand… That is how miscalculation happens, because the men most likely to say wait are gone while you and I watch!!! Then there is Pete Hegseth. The one comfort in having him at the Department of War is that he can always resign or be fired, and Trump loves a fall guy as much as he loves younger women. His own command could turn over again in the middle of the crisis, which is its own kind of instability and “regime change”. Of course I advocate for being prepared and being resilient and relying on yourself and your community, but when the State media broadcast directions to you, we are entering a new phase for preparation. This is how a population is walked into a war slowly, gradually and then suddenly. It gets conditioned, gently and in advance, until the idea feels normal before a single shot is fired. That work has now started as I have told my readers it was coming for months. In the United States the “firewall” against this is already gone. In 2013, under Obama, the Smith-Mundt Modernization Act lifted the old ban that kept government messaging built for foreign audiences from being aimed at Americans at home. The same tools made for abroad became legal to run on the domestic public and unless you’ve been reading my writings, you probably NEVER noticed or were never told about it.
