Every 90 minutes someone dies from ALS. Today one of those people was my friend, and inspiration for the #IceBucketChallenge - Pete Frates. An indestructible soul.

And wherever we might go

Today just disappeared..."

Pete Frates challenged us all to fight harder for a cure to ALS – & in doing so he inspired the world. My heart goes out to Pete’s wife, daughter, family & friends in MA & across the US. Let’s remember him by keeping up the fight for the people we love. bostonglobe.com/metro/obitua…

Five years ago, @PeteFrates3, @PQuinnfortheWin and a handful of others literally changed the world when they launched the Ice Bucket Challenge.
They inspired a movement that swept the globe, raising more than $200 million dollars and reshaping the fight against ALS.

RIP Pete Frates.
In 2014, I wrote about how Frates helped raise millions for ALS via the Ice Bucket Challenge — re-igniting awareness for a disease that was misunderstood, underfunded & largely neglected by the public for years. He was a true inspiration.

I lost someone very close to me a year ago to ALS. It’s the worst disease imaginable.
Losing Pete Frates today is a blow but his mission will live on forever. Pete was such an inspiration to anyone directly impacted by ALS. Please donate. petefrates.com/donate/
