The Catholic priest who died after a crucifix fell on him was talking about how everyone will be dead one day and the importance of giving your life to God. “Dear brothers and sisters, one day, all of us here will also die…” said Father Patricio Sánchez Molinari of Ecuador. “Dear brothers and sisters, one day we will all die, and the time we spent on trivial things will prove far less meaningful than the time we invested in God,” he said again. “The quality time we gave to Him, to our brothers and sisters, to our spouses, to our children, and to our families… That is time well spent, dear brothers and sisters.” Just moments later, the crucifix fell on him and killed him.

Remember falling asleep on the couch during family holiday gatherings? You could hear the adults talking and laughing in the background, dishes being put away, and the TV playing softly. You didn't have a care in the world. You just knew everyone was there, and you were safe. It's funny how much you miss those ordinary nights, especially the people who made them feel like home.

French journalist Paul Amar: “They came prepared. They had the addresses of town halls. They had addresses of Jewish shop owners. In a street in Marseille, all businesses owned by Jews were set on fire. Businesses run by Muslims weren’t”

For decades it has been unfashionable across much of the West to discuss Christianity except in historical or condescending terms. That pattern is shifting. Pope Leo XIV’s open-air Mass in the Place de la Concorde drew an estimated 800,000 people, filling the square and the length of the Champs-Élysées. The scale of the spontaneous assembly astonished observers in a city long marked by anti-clerical tradition. The phenomenon is more consequential than episodic student unrest. It signals the practical exhaustion of secularist hostility to spiritual values and of progressive assumptions about the perfectibility of man. Historical experience suggests that religious vacuums tend to be filled by destructive ideologies or by charismatic pretenders to absolute authority. In the face of demographic and cultural pressures, including militant Islam, atheism is increasingly perceived as an inadequate substitute; soulless in conception and limited in practical resilience. The recovery of respect for Judeo-Christian foundations does not imply a return to earlier forms of religious militancy. But it does indicate a renewed determination to defend the civilizational inheritance those foundations have sustained.

Europe gives them free healthcare, free housing, free education, every social program, and a quality of life they could never have back home… yet they will still loot and destroy the West into the third-world. There is no magic soil. A nation is simply it’s people.

.@KemiBadenoch says Thomas Sowell made the black conservative idea stop looking like a rare animal. Most black people she knows are socially conservative. Western societies just tell them the left is their assigned side. She tells the story of a friend who called herself a Marxist at Oxford. After running a tough school, she read Sowell, and built the highest-performing school in the UK where almost every student is on free school meals.

The indigenous people of British Columbia do NOT need to be conquered. Their subjugation by the British Crown was completed over 150 years ago. Just ask the Chilcotin war chiefs who massacred a road crew in 1864 believing it to be an act of war. Governor Frederick Seymour marshalled 100 men, tracked them down, took them as prisoners, had them tried, convicted, and then hanged for murder under British law. Or ask the 200 Cowichan tribesmen who in 1853 grabbed their arrows and rowed out in war canoes in defiance of a colonial order to relinquish a man accused of murder. Governor James Douglas gathered 150 men on two warships and sailed under commission of the Crown into their village. It only took two hours. The man was handed over without a shot fired. Ask the Penelakut who, the following year, made the mistake of firing upon and killing a sailor aboard another Douglas gunboat arriving to arrest men accused of murdering two settlers. The village was shelled for 30 minutes and then burned. Within weeks, the culprits were apprehended, tried, convicted, and executed for the murders. There was never any need or desire among the colonial authorities to enter treaties after these skirmishes because the sovereignty of the Crown was abundantly clear. The few treaties on southern Vancouver Island that Douglas did enter early in his tenure were not offered out of necessity, but practicality. Sometimes you settle not because you accept the legitimacy of another party’s claim, but to avoid unnecessary conflict. What you did not see during the founding of British Columbia, however, was colonial malice or revenge. Slavery, torture, and retributive cycles of violence which had prevailed on the land since time immemorial quite suddenly came to an end. Crown justice was buttressed by the Mercy of the Cross. In 1872, Judge Matthew Begbie, who had sentenced the Chilcotin Chiefs eight years earlier, commuted the death sentences of four Metlakatla men, including the Chief, convicted for murder. They were returned to their village and trusted into the care of Anglican priest William Duncan. Begbie wrote: “When the head is white, the heart ought to be prudent and moderate.” Duncan reported in the years following that the men had become happy and docile under his instruction. When gold miners surged northward from San Francisco, colonial protection was provided. When smallpox broke out in 1862, thousands were vaccinated. These too were gracious acts of sovereign power. The natives are restless in British Columbia today. We don’t need to reconquer them. We don’t necessarily need treaties either. What we do need is to restore the peace, order, and good governance that colonial authorities established long ago through the sovereign exercise of the will of the Crown tempered by the wisdom and grace of the Cross.

All the individuals who were close to Justin Trudeau and stuck with him for a decade (or most of it), and who are NOW saying publicly how horrible / unqualified he was... ...owe an explanation to all Canadians as to why they didn't speak up when it would have mattered.
