So proud of this paper led by Pingping Zhao where we use miniaturized microscopy in nucleus Accumbens and optogenetics to discover how activity in D1 and D2 MSNs reciprocally modulate social interaction and altered in a model of autism.

It has been great collaboration with @DanielBAharoni 's lab, especially @ChangliangGuo. Wonderful @MiniscopeTeam ! The cool MiniXL will enable more exciting work in the near future!

So excited about our new preprint by Pingping Zhao and colleagues on cell-type specific and long-term stability of social representations in the nucleus accumbens and prefrontal cortex! Using miniaturized microscopy and we discover destabilized activity in an autism model.
Excited to share our preprint, the work I’ve done in Golshani lab @pgolshani. Using UCLA Miniscope, I explored NAc neural representation of social interaction and identified representational deficit in Cntnap2 KO mice. More exciting results are coming! Stay tuned.

Appreciate everyone’s contribution! @pgolshani, Hesper Chen, @DanielBAharoni, Arash Bellafard, Avaneesh Murugesan, @jquanscience and @MiniscopeTeam.
I'm in US and mom is in surgery in Shanghai. It's impossible to go back immediately. I wish I had a sibling. At this moment, I think those who proposed stupid single child policy in China should be sentenced to death.

After 6 hour red eye flight, 4 hour waiting and 3. 5 hour bus ride, here I am! @OptoGRC #OptoGRC2022
Watched those vlogs on Youtube about people's real experience how they went back and got out of Shanghai. I have so much anger. Parents are still in quarantine at home since April.1st. Have to spend 10x or even more money on food. Stupid people ruin my hometown.
I have done three antigen tests and three PCR tests within ten days (because continuously heard people around tested positive). Still believe masks protect us from virus and help us be responsible to others.

I recently told lab members to ask me any question they wanted and many of their questions were about money. How much do assistant professors make? Difference between soft and hard money positions? etc. 1/5
Cancel registration, I might be unable to get reimbursed for membership and submission fee. I'll lose $160+$145. Not cancel registration, (not interested in virtual conference at all), PI will lose $360. So good at making money @SfNtweets
While we hope you’ll join us for virtual Neuroscience 2021, cancellation of your registration and a refund of your registration fee are available.
See the updated policy for specific instructions. bit.ly/3aomMMt
Not interested in virtual meeting at all. Refund please!
The Society for Neuroscience will hold #SfN21 as a fully virtual experience, eliminating all in-person options that had been planned for McCormick Place in Chicago, Illinois.

I haven't been home for almost five years mostly because of visa issue. Postdocs' life is so hard!
