Only because I had just gotten out of a hot shower could I hit these notes tonight. π
Rodney Crowell wrote βAinβt Living Long Like This,β and Gary Stewart and Emmylou Harris both recorded it before Waylon did.
Then Waylon got hold of it and somehow made it sound like it had been written for him all along.
His version went to #1 in 1980.
Hereβs 60 seconds of cover from the desk.
Neil wrote βCinnamon Girl,β βDown by the River,β and βCowgirl in the Sandβ while home sick with a high fever in Topanga Canyon. Apparently fever was his co-writer that week. π
Dean Dillon + George Strait = Quantum.
Dean said βMarina Del Reyβ was inspired by a bartender he met at the yacht club bar there and had a brief fling with.
Later, when George asked if he had any songs, Dillon played it almost reluctantly β basically telling him, βI donβt think youβre gonna like this.β
George heard it, was astonished, and immediately wanted it for βStrait from the Heartβ. The single went on to become one of his early Top 10 country hits.
Pretty amazing what can come out of one brief encounter. Thereβs a great Dillon documentary on YT.
Hereβs 60 seconds of βMarina Del Rey.β
Merle wrote it after his longtime friend and bus driver Dean Holloway complained after a Los Angeles recording session that he was tired of the βdirty old city.β Merle asked where heβd rather be; Holloway said somewhere in the middle of Montana. Merle turned those remarks into the song and gave Holloway a co-writing credit. They then reportedly cut it in one take, with no rehearsal. And βBig Cityβ wasn't some deep cut either β it became Merle's 27th #1 country single in 1982. Hereβs 60 seconds of βBig City.β
It's not capitalism or a free market economy if the participants are forced to use fake money. That's not an economy. That's a ruse.
I just realized cap gains tax is not for revenue but to keep you from using gold or an equivalent as currency. Am I right @jimiuorio @brian_armstrong @wesbury (And so to keep paying workers with fake money which is the real reason for the "affordability crisis" )
Gold dollar /silver dollar /put your house on blockchain dollar doesn't really matter as long as money is "real" reflects real assets. If it doesn't then it's fake. It's only value is keeping you alive by telling a lie. Ancient Egypt still lives, even more so.
This is where it's at --

Gold dollar is the only answer. Gold has gone up 15x since 2000 but the reality is that gold has not changed it's value at all. The dollar, which has no value other than the only means to pay your taxes, has decreased because it's only paper with no backing in reality.
The cure for the "K-Shaped" economy and the "affordibility crisis" is to stop paying people with fake money. We need to End the Fed, Gold Dollar, and have a free market in interest rates. It's that simple. It's not free market capitalism if your using fake money.

When you commit yourself to something it activates a "sixth sense" in your subconcious that becomes like Aladdin's genie.
