Why are the media and politicians ignoring a major and immediate problem: Day after day of no sun and little wind. Imagine freezing fog. Nuclear is the only option. Wake up World! @guardian @independent @FT @BBCNews @thetimes

The new @Twitter logo is in use in Ukraine. Called hedgehogs they are designed to stop tanks. I’m not sure a logo, that suggests stopping things getting through, is a great choice for a communications company. #TwitterLogo #TwitterX
Never a fan of @campbellclaret but @BBCNewsnight etc. are guilty of evading #brexit (licence worries?).
@vicderbyshire should accept his criticism - ask predecessor @maitlis
#balance is gattox!
Why am I paying a TV Licence to watch a radio programme on @BBCNews?
Bet you won't see this on @BBCNews
Another #Brexit bonus. UK are excluded from the development and implementation of this new standard, when we should have been a key driver.
#FRAND may be bad news for UK IP (Intellectual Property not Farage). How will it affect #ARM?

ONS have today updated their analysis of mortality rates in England based on vaccination status.
Key result is that whether we consider all-cause deaths or deaths with COVID, the age-standardised mortality rate is higher for unvaccinated people.

Hospital admissions with COVID fell significantly this week. 7-day average for England down 19%.
Our R estimate is down to 0.88.
Consistently large falls regionally. South West fell fastest (-28%) and NE&Yorks fell slowest (-12%).
Bed occupancy has fallen by 17%.
Same old nonsense from the media & politicians. Housing chaos is structural - no grasp, no imagination.😡

Summary of latest ONS deaths data from @ActuaryByDay. Like last week the excess is a bit smaller than we had been seeing over recent months.
Detailed analysis of death rates follows later today from the Continuous Mortality Investigation (CMI).

UK 🇬🇧 is Germany’s third export market, but we are concerned that trade between 🇬🇧🇩🇪 has continuously declined since the Brexit referendum.
Britain has traditionally been Germany’s fifth largest trading partner. In 2022 UK 🇬🇧 will drop out of the list of the TOP 10 (blue line)

Fmr Environment Sec George Eustice has spoken about the post-Brexit UK/Australia trade deal in the Commons. He says now no longer a minister: "I no longer have to put such a positive gloss on what was agreed...the Australia deal is not actually a very good trade deal for the UK."
