THE FESTIVAL HAS BEGUN. The week has officially started — and we’ve got seven days of workshops, performances, world-class practitioners and plenty of Physical Fest energy ahead.

IT'S PHYSICAL FEST WEEEK!

ON THE STAGE | The Conch What lies beneath the surface? Natural, delicate, strong yet breakable — The Conch explores what might be hidden inside the shell. Something strange, vulnerable, mysterious, absurd… or perhaps something she hasn't discovered yet.

ON THE STAGE | The Mice That Chewed My Knickers Three characters. One interweaving storyline. Probably. Meet Beans, a Scouse princess afraid of jazz music; a taxi driver from Birmingham and his small, sickly dog; and a nervous system cosplaying as a waiter.

ONE WEEK TO GO. Dare to get Physical? In ONE WEEK, Physical Fest 2026 kicks off in Liverpool. From 7–12 September, get ready for six days of physical theatre, clowning, circus, movement, workshops and wonderfully unexpected performances.

MEET ZOË | WORKSHOP + PERFORMANCE In this reel, Zoë McWhinney invites you to discover the world of Visual Vernacular (VV) — and there are two ways to experience her work at Physical Fest.

ON THE STAGE | All of Us Two ordinary clowns. One horizon. Very different ideas about what comes next. Will they stride fearlessly into the unknown, turn back to safety, or let rivalry ruin everything?

MEET OUR 2026 FEMALE BURSARY WINNERS We’re delighted to introduce Emma Hirons and Rachel Barry, the recipients of the Physical Fest 2026 Female Bursary. Two artists. Two bold and distinctive works. One special evening celebrating new female-led physical theatre.
