Football before it became a product. Affordable tickets, proper 3pm kick-offs, terraces, terrible pies, no phones in the air, spontaneous chants and nobody waiting three minutes for VAR to decide whether you’re allowed to celebrate or not. Sorry one thing became a number of things because it’s a product now which has lost the original identify of football in my grandpa and dad’s time minus the smoking and beer bottle throwing down the terracing. Hazel note to self, less is more 🙄
