Calling all Dads! I could really use some encouragement and advice.
My partner and I conceived a little girl on the first date. I tried like hell to make at work. There were some things that I just couldn’t be around and I ended the relationship.
What followed was six months of hell of not seeing my daughter. Finally, after six months of waiting, we had the hearing.
Her counter claim was full of lies about me and so was her testimony at the hearing. In fact, the judge reprimanded her for her accusations and for moving 100 miles away. The accusations made about me were horrendous so out of an abundance of caution and I really don’t blame her. She gave my ex partner full physical custody in my greatest fear was realized, I had become an every other weekend Dad.
Because of the accusations, the Judge also ordered that we both report for drug tests within 24 hours. I took my test the next morning. It was negative and so I shared the results with the court and the opposing council. However, it is six months later and she refuses to show the results of her drug test. She also ordered that despite my ex partners anti-VAX stance if I wanted our daughter vaccinated. My ex partner has refused. In addition in just six short months, she has denied me visitation five times.
In the past six months, we have filed two motions to compel one for the drug test and one for our interrogatory questions that they refuse to send. We are filed a total of five contempt of court for refusing to have my daughter vaccinated, refusing to share her drug test results and multiple visitations where she has simply decided to ignore the court order. On top of this, I have been forced to change my original plea from joint custody to full custody because of her mother‘s refusal to comply with any court order.
Guys, dad, men, I know all of this works in my favor. In two weeks, I will be able to get on the stand and say that despite court order, I have not seen my daughter in a month and a half. But man this hurts like hell. Despite my ex-partner claiming that I was a drug addict I have produced a hair follicle drug test showing six months of negative results. She has refused to vaccinate our daughter, and she consistently revokes visitation. She faces five counts of contempt of court.
Firstly, I need prayers and encouragement guys. If you’ve ever gone any period of time without seeing your child, you know it hurts like hell I’ve got 11 days to go and I can make it but please if you’ve been here before please share a story or an anecdote to keep me going for the next week and a half. Also, if you have any experience in these cases either from going through one yourself or by being a lawyer, I would appreciate your read of the situation and possibly even a prediction of what will happen at our final hearing in a week and a half. This is a lot to sit with so I’d appreciate any opinion.
