6/6 vanderbilt.edu/principles/st…
It is always a pleasure to attend the @DGSoziologie Conference. I already learned about the history of sociological theory, Simmel, Martineau, and, of course, the inspiring work of some colleagues. Today, I talked about the debate on dependency theory in Ecuador.

Never forget.
We’ve already sold 25 copies of my book on the Ecuadorian indigenous movement during the 2019 and 2022 uprisings! Come on, buy your copy. 1/2
It helps you understand what happened to the movement after academia lost interest around 2010. It also helps you understand why the 2025 uprising unfolded the way it did. 2/2

My article on yachay tinkuy (the convergence and confrontation of knowledges) has finally been published. It explores this concept as a way to understand the power dynamics and struggles that shaped decolonial political concepts such as Buen Vivir and plurinationality. 1/2
This is not, and never has been, a “dialogue of knowledges,” but rather a systematic and strategic struggle waged by the marginalized and excluded.
