“But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return, and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be sons of the Highest; for he is good to the unthankful and wicked (Luke 6:35 DARBY).”

Have you noticed that in the only sustained passage we have about the Lord's Supper (1 Cor 11:17-34), there's no mention of a bishop or deacon present, to somehow “validate” it? He addresses the entire assembly.
The clericalism comes later, for sure, but it's not in the NT.
“You are to be holy to me because I, the LORD, am holy, and I have set you apart from the nations to be mine (Leviticus 20:26 CSB).”
Good reminders from @GreggMatte as we continue early voting week (weeks?) and as Election Day fast approaches. @HoustonsFirst @HFBCCypress
Can we just vote for Jesus and His Millennial Reign? 🫣🥺😅😜🗳️
Mulling over how to respond to this. (Or if I will.)
Here’s the full video. I didn’t expect convo in the comments section, lol, but it’s all good. The crux of the argument is that Jesus as Lord and Saviour is… creepy…? Haven’t heard this one before. 🕵🏻♂️

Theology 101: Historically, when predictions of the return of Christ were proven false, most regretted siding with the crackpots, but enough held on to the lies and ended up founding sects and cults. Lesson: don’t double-down or triple-down on lies and deception. Repent.
“Do not turn to mediums , or consult spiritists, or you will be defiled by them; I am the LORD your God (Leviticus 19:31 CSB).”

'Speed' derives from the Old English 'spēd,' which referred to good fortune/success.
This sense of 'speed' lives on in 'Godspeed':
"God spede you" = "God prosper you"
We hope this brings you up to speed.

Matthew employs a stylistic device in his gospel,
ῥηθὲν ὑπὸ κυρίου διὰ τοῦ προφήτου.
“Rethen hupo kuriou dia tou prophetou.”
What was spoken by the Lord through the prophet.
Other evangelists use written, or fulfilled.
Matthew seems to emphasize that the life and ministry of Jesus is an affirmation of what the writer of Hebrews says: “God spoke to our fathers by the prophets.”
Such a fun 40K podcast! Glad to see they’re back at it! podcasts.apple.com/us/podcas…
Was just wondering why there are all these purity and clean/ unclean laws in Leviticus and then came across this verse:
“You must keep the Israelites from their uncleanness, so that they do not die by defiling my tabernacle that is among them (15:31).”
Ah. Okay. Makes sense! 🕵🏻♂️
