So the billionaire pulling in $71 million an hour since Election Day thinks your $1,900 Social Security check—money you’ve earned over a lifetime—is ‘too much’ and should go to fund his vanity space projects instead? The level of delusion it takes to justify this is staggering.

Social Security has been 7 years from going bankrupt for the past 56 years. This is a lie Republicans created and perpetuate to condition you into accepting the loss of an earned benefit you paid for in every check you ever earned.

During the war in Syria about 600,000 people were killed, some with chemical weapons used against them by the regime. In addition, millions of Syrians became refugees in their own country and abroad. Israel did not do this. Iran and Hezbollah did. Why no cries of genocide?

Assad is done. Hoping what comes next is better. Skeptical.

Eric Holder and Rahm Emmanuel are re-minting themselves as antidotes to neoliberalism. It’s too much really.

Social Security is not a welfare program. It is an earned benefit, paid for by its future recipients. And it's not broke. Social security is our money. Let's keep it that way. Let's boldly say "NO!" to any Republican attempt to tamper with Social Security! #DemVoice1

It's time for billionaires to pay the same tax rate as the rest of us.

Mike Lee should listen to his hero, Ronald Reagan: "Social Security has nothing to do with the deficit."
🧵🚨 1. Of all the deceptive sales techniques the U.S. government has used on the American people, one of them—the Social Security Act—gets far too little attention. Buckle up because this is a wild ride.

As a former trustee of Social Security, I'm worried the program is in danger of running dry. Why? As the rich have gotten richer, more of their income has escaped the cap on the SS payroll tax. We can fix this by scrapping the cap. Watch.

I was a Sanders delegate at that convention, and it was enough for me to never want to have anything to do with the Democrat party ever again

Isn't Elon Musk the greatest hypocrite in the US? He opposes federal funding, but lives on federal subsidies. He opposes government regulations, but wants regulations favoring him. He wants illegal immigrants to be deported, but he was an illegal immigrant. What Trash!

The argument against regulation is always the same: “It stifles growth and jobs.” But just as tax cuts for corporations have not trickled down, regulatory cuts have not benefited most people. Big companies enjoy bigger profits. Working people bear the costs.

Follow the money.
It’s almost like there is a global race to end democracy.

David Sirota: “There’s a big problem with a Democratic Party torn between — and not really wanting to think about balancing — the interests of the donor class and the voters. And now they're going to really have to confront that. Can they?”
