Humbled and honoured to have been elected the 49th president of the @BoardofDeputies - the youngest in its 264-year history.
Thanks so much to all those who voted for me today, my amazing team, and to all who have supported me on this journey.
The hard work begins now.

“We welcome Sir Ed and the Liberal Democrat Party’s unequivocal position regarding their unwillingness to work with the Green Party nationally. We await confirmation on the Party’s local council arrangements with the Green Party over the coming days.”

Thank you to @catholicEW for hosting today’s Ecumenical and Jewish gathering with Cardinal Koovakad, Prefect of the Holy See’s Dicastery for Interreligious Dialogue.
Zack Polanski remains all over the place. Having failed to muster any leadership over the Green Party’s racist vote on Zionism, he now presides over a party whose own policy he admits even he will disagree with until at least 2028. This is not a tenable situation.
Let us remember that, as of now, the Green Party's platform erases Jewish identity and experience, calls for Israel's elimination, and tells the vast majority of Jews, who overwhelmingly believe in the right of Israel to exist, that they are not welcome in the party.

Thank you @mhclg Secretary of State @AngelaRayner for meeting the @ADL’s J7, as @BoardofDeputies hosted the group in London. 🇬🇧
As we confront the international rise of antisemitism, our global coalition will work together to turn iron determination into concrete action.
Antisemitism is shamefully rising across the globe, and it's going to take all of us to tackle it.
Yesterday I met leaders from the J7 to discuss this unique hatred targeting Jewish communities and to learn from each other's experiences and approaches.
By listening, learning and sharing what works, we can strengthen our response to antisemitism and help ensure Jewish people in our communities can live safely and confidently.
As part of the @boardofdeputies hosting the @ADL’s J7 in London, we visited @EnglandFootball at @wembleystadium to discuss how to drive antisemitism & prejudice out of the beautiful game.
The BoD’s own Three Lions were delighted to be part of this special Pride.

No Jew should be targeted for being Jewish. Using Israel as a pretext to attack Jews is antisemitism, plain and simple.
I joined @PhilR_R on @BBCNews to discuss the threats facing Jewish communities worldwide and the J7 Task Force’s work to confront them.

Earlier this morning, officers made arrests at a spontaneous protest outside the Board of Deputies in Camden.
Five people were arrested for inciting racial hatred, involving allegedly shouting or chanting slogans calling for intifada. They remain in police custody.
The protest in Camden has now ended.

Three years since the 7th of October 2023.
Three years ago, Hamas terrorists infiltrated Israel, murdering 1,200 men, women and children, injuring thousands and taking 251 people captive. May their memories forever remain a blessing.

October 7 was, and will always be, a hole in the heart of Israel and the Jewish people.
It began on a Saturday morning at 6:29am. The news that unfolded on that black Saturday, hour by hour, forever changed our lives.
In remembrance of that horrific day, in remembrance of the 1,200 people murdered, Jews around the world, and all decent and compassionate people, will pause to mourn those senselessly murdered and tortured. We also honor those who fought valiantly to defend the Jewish State of Israel.
Our hearts are still broken, but not our spirit.

The Green Party of England and Wales adopted a policy that equates Zionism with racism and calls for Israel to be replaced by a single Palestinian state.
Zionism - the belief in the Jewish people’s right to self-determination and a sovereign state in their ancestral homeland - is a central tenet for many Jews.
Branding most British Jews and Jewish institutions ‘racist’ would only further stoke anti-Jewish hatred.
The WJC stands in full support of our affiliate @BoardofDeputies and with British Jewry.
“The motion passed by the Green Party today is an attack on the Jewish community. It is an antisemitic platform, based on a grossly offensive distortion and erasure of Jewish experience and identity.”
