オープンゾーンのBGMは製品版よりも抽象的でアンビエントなポストクラシカル・ミュージック、その状態から巨神への登頂では重低音を強調したベース・ミュージックに変化するアイデアを試していた。その1点ではユニークだったけど、あまり広がりを持たせることは出来なかった。その後、もっとわかりやすくエモーショナルな音楽設計を探求していくことに。

昨晩の生放送『ソニックフロンティア』の初期の映像を出されていて驚きました（笑）。この頃から私も制作に参加していてBGMを作っていました。「寂寥感」というキーワードは既にあり、フィールドとバトルで異なる曲調がシームレスに遷移する仕組みを実装してみたり、音楽設計やサウンドデザインを試行錯誤していました。その後、島が再設計されることなり、作っていたBGMは全てボツにしてイチから作り直しました。
