There's still time to book your place at the forthcoming RC2014 event at The National Museum of Computing. It's a chance to meet other RC2014 builders and users, or to learn about RC2014 and similar systems before deciding to build your first one. tnmoc.org/events/2025/9/20/r…

I've just been talking with this visitor to @tnmoc who used to work for BRUSH Electrical in Loughborough. He used to program their Elliott 803, which is shown in the picture on the wall. We had a long chat about the HCODE language developed at BRUSH and still used on our 803.
If you were planning a visit to Bletchley Park today, they have decided this morning not to open due to the wind. However The National Museum of Computing @TNMOC is still open so why not come and learn about the Bombe, Colossus and post war computing from us instead.
Before array bounds checking was invented your programs could run amuck and just overwrite the whole of memory and crash when they over wrote themselves ! Here is my real time memory display add on to @TNMOC's Elliott 803 showing an Autocode program doing precisely that !
Today we did a bit of appropriate Algol-60 programming on the Elliott 803 @TNMOC
The result of today's study of ancient t̵e̵x̵t̵s̵ manuals is that the Creed 75 teleprinter in my Elliott 803 emulator now has correct typehead motion when printing ! I now need to make a correct model of the typehead.
The focus of my attention today is working out a version of the table on the left (which is for CCITT No2 code) to match the typehead on the right (which is for Elliott Telecode). I may be some time .... 🤔
Rather than using the mouse to press the keys I've made them follow presses on the PC's keyboard. The left and right "Alt" keys control the FIGURES and LETTERS keys. I still need to make the RUNOUT key work. It repeats what ever other key is pressed at the same time.
I don't attend events that involve any form of getting "dressed up". It's what I do and what I say that's important, not what I'm wearing !
One of the other volunteers @TNMOC has produced an OpenSCAD model of the Creed 75 teleprinter ! I'm now working on integrating this into my Elliott 803 emulator.
I'll stop now before you all get fed-up ! These are the "hailstone" number sequences of length 40 for starting numbers between 3000 and 3999.
I've used a picture of all the characters printed on our Creed 75 to produce a font for the teleprinter in my Elliott 803 emulator. I'm very pleased with the results!
Here it is being drawn on the Elliott 803's Calcomp 565 #penplotter .
