Yesterday, members of our great Party, the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), and I joined the good people of Akinima Community in Ahoada West LGA to pay our last respects to Late Mrs. Selina Ibe-Jack, beloved mother of Engr. Success Jack, the Rivers State Chairman of our Party. Mama lived to the age of 75, and the tributes at her funeral reflected the impact she had on her family and community. Her life reminds us that the true measure of a person is not merely the years lived, but the values upheld, the lives touched, and the legacy left behind. The ceremony was a moving occasion that brought together party members, friends, and well-wishers in a strong show of love and solidarity with the bereaved family. Amid the grief of saying goodbye, the gathering also became a celebration of Mama’s life, as people came together to honour her memory and share in the family’s moment of loss. Losing a mother is a deeply painful experience, and no words can fully take away the sorrow that comes with such a loss. I extend my heartfelt condolences to Engr. Success Jack and the entire Ibe-Jack family. May God comfort them, strengthen them in this difficult time, and grant them the grace to find peace in the memories of their beloved mother. As members of the NDC Rivers State family, our presence was a demonstration of our commitment to standing together, not only in moments of celebration but also in times of grief. This is part of our enduring commitment to Service to the People. May the soul of Late Mrs. Selina Ibe-Jack rest in perfect peace. To God be the glory.

Allegedly, the only hope of APC in the upcoming general elections : ~ Thuggery ~ Power of incumbency ~ Glitches of INEC server ~ AI manufactured fake results ~ Vote buying But Nigerians are more than prepared to disappoint them.

APC WANTS TO USE ITS FEDERAL POWER TO REMOVE NDC FROM THE BALLOT PAPER IN THE 2027 FEDERAL HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES ELECTION IN SURULERE 1! The plan has already been exposed, and I got wind of it because this is the method they intend to use to rig the election in Surulere 1 Federal Constituency by preventing NDC from appearing on the ballot paper for the 2027 election. They did it during the last federal election for the House of Representatives in Surulere 1 with the Labour Party, when the person who was the Labour Party candidate colluded with them, and the Labour Party did not appear on the ballot paper. Nothing happened because the candidate was part of the game plan. They got away with it then, and now they want to repeat it again. I am calling on the INEC Chairman, Professor Amupitan, to ensure that NDC appears on the ballot paper for the 2027 Federal House of Representatives election in Surulere 1. I am calling on the NDC National Leadership and Lagos State Leadership to be alert and take this threat seriously. I am also calling on Nigerians not to take this matter lightly. It has happened before, and they got away with it. We must not allow it to happen again! They know they cannot bribe me, and neither will I keep quiet. Oga at the top, don’t try it like you did last time ooo! Let this serve as a strong warning: we are watching, we are alert, and we will not fold our arms while anyone attempts to undermine our democratic rights. NDC must be on the ballot paper in Surulere 1 House of Representatives in 2027

Peter Obi built 200 shops in Trade Fair Market Ojo, Lagos, Nigeria. And gifted it all out just to pull people out of poverty. This was done from his personal purse. What have Tinubu and Atiku Abubakar done from private purse to pull people out of poverty?

World Poverty Day: Why Nigeria Should Have Declared Today a Public Holiday Today is the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty. Sadly, Nigeria has become a symbol of the global poverty crisis. The rising poverty rate, from 40.1 per cent in 2019 to 56.2 per cent in 2023 and an estimated 63 per cent in 2026, shows how a country can move progressively backwards while those in authority appear unconcerned. Millions of Nigerians are now struggling to live, to afford food, and access healthcare. Yet, government narratives often paint a different picture. What meaning does economic growth have when citizens are getting poorer, hungrier, and more insecure? Progress must be measured by improvements in people’s lives. As poverty deepens, the government should genuinely show concern. Perhaps today should have been declared a public holiday, not for celebration, but for national reflection on how a country so richly endowed with human and natural resources has allowed poverty to overcome it. Poverty is not Nigeria’s destiny. With competent leadership, prudent management of public resources, investment in education and healthcare, and support for agriculture and small businesses, we can reverse this trend. A new Nigeria where no citizen goes to bed hungry and where every citizen lives in dignity is POssible and OK. -PO

CHIEF DUMO LULU-BRIGGS GOVERNORSHIP CANDIDATE, RIVERS STATE Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) WHY THE FUTURE OF RIVERS STATE DESERVES A NEW VISION As Rivers State looks towards the 2027 governorship election, important questions must be asked about the future of our economy, the welfare of our people, youth empowerment, infrastructure, education, healthcare, and good governance. Chief Dumo Lulu-Briggs (@DumoLuluBriggs), governorship candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), has presented his RESET RIVERS STATE vision, outlining development priorities intended to address these challenges and create new opportunities for the people. 1. ECONOMIC TRANSFORMATION Rivers State possesses enormous economic potential beyond the oil and gas sector. Greater attention to agriculture, fisheries, maritime activities, tourism, manufacturing, and small businesses could help diversify the economy, attract investment, and expand employment opportunities. 2. YOUTH EMPOWERMENT AND JOB CREATION The future of Rivers State depends significantly on the opportunities available to its young people. Skills acquisition, vocational training, entrepreneurship, access to business support, and private-sector investment are important areas for addressing unemployment and promoting economic independence. 3. QUALITY EDUCATION AND ACCESSIBLE HEALTHCARE Education and healthcare are essential foundations of sustainable development. Improving public schools, strengthening healthcare facilities, supporting teachers and medical personnel, and expanding access to essential services should remain priorities in the development of Rivers State. 4. INFRASTRUCTURE AND INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT Reliable infrastructure is critical to economic growth. Investments in roads, electricity, transportation, sanitation, and other essential services can improve living standards, support businesses, and encourage investment across the state. 5. TRANSPARENCY AND ACCOUNTABLE LEADERSHIP Good governance requires transparency, responsible management of public resources, respect for the rule of law, and institutions that serve the interests of the people. Clear development targets and regular public reporting can help residents evaluate government performance. 6. ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION Communities across Rivers State face environmental challenges, including flooding, pollution, erosion, and concerns about access to clean water. Sustainable environmental policies and effective responses to these challenges are essential for protecting lives, livelihoods, and future generations. 7. INCLUSIVE AND EQUITABLE DEVELOPMENT Every local government area and community deserves fair consideration in the distribution of development opportunities. An inclusive approach to governance should promote equal access to public services, encourage community participation, and recognise the contributions of all sections of Rivers State. THE WAY FORWARD FOR RIVERS STATE Chief Dumo Lulu-Briggs's RESET RIVERS STATE agenda provides a basis for discussing economic transformation, social development, environmental sustainability, and public accountability. As the 2027 governorship election approaches, the people of Rivers State should carefully examine the policies, priorities, funding plans, and implementation strategies presented by all candidates. The central issues are the quality of their proposals, the feasibility of their commitments, and the mechanisms through which they intend to deliver measurable improvements in the lives of the people. The future of Rivers State requires thoughtful leadership, practical solutions, transparent governance, and a sustained commitment to the well-being of every resident. Peter Obi said within the first one year Nigerians will begin to experience positive results in all area of governance. When Tinubu’s APC tells you four years is not enough refer them to Abia state.
