For future reference, don't attempt to cancel me. I have made many mistakes in my past and will continue to make more mistakes in my future. This is not because I am cruel but because I am human. We are born knowing nothing and only learn through experience.

$85M fxUSD in circulation. $80M felt like a milestone. $85M feels like a trend. fxUSD supply is still climbing, and nothing is being paid to make it happen. People want a dollar that stays a dollar, and they're minting it. Hold it. Earn on it in fxSAVE. Borrow it against ETH or BTC in fxMINT.

This makes a lot of sense.
Instead of another one-off baby bonus, why not actually address the structural financial penalty that currently exists on families? If you allow married couples with dependent children to split household income for tax purposes, they’ll be substantially better off. A family living on one primary income shouldn’t necessarily pay thousands more in tax than a household earning exactly the same amount split evenly between two incomes. If Australia genuinely wants more Australians to have children, make family formation financially sustainable for the next 18 years not just subsidised on the day that the baby arrives.

Absolutely incredible. Hard to describe with words. It is, by far, my favourite model to chat with and is capable beyond belief. It is like Opus 4.6 and Fable 5.1 had a baby, and used CRISPR to make it smarter and more artistic.
how was your first day building with Opus 5.5? :)

It's official, Opus 5.5 is the best thing since sliced bread.

If Opus 5.5 is this brilliant, just imagine what their internal model (very likely Mythos 5.5 or greater) is capable of. Welcome to the singularity.

This is the smile of a man that knew what he and others were building was incredibly important for society and that it would likely take many years for others to realise, but it would be glorious when they do. I remember watching @zooko in either 2017 or 2018 saying that it will likely take another 7 to 10 years for the Zcash thesis to fully materialise; he mentioned that it would be a trillion-dollar asset. I believed him then and believe him now.
Check it out—Zcash in The Economist! It's a good article, too.

When times are tough, I remind myself that this is all part of the game. If it was easy, everyone would be doing it.
The life of a founder is mostly about developing the ability to make the least shitty decision when the rising tide of problems present a sea of only shitty options, while simultaneously understanding which less-shitty decision will provide the best relief for the most critical problem you face today. All of this happens every day, until the shitty decisions get reworked into more optimal solutions over a long enough time horizon. And, let's not forget, that there is 100% chance that you will make the wrong decision, but you must be able to learn fast enough to avoid catastrophe while being less-wrong over time.

I see a lot of people on X making fun of others for 'paper-handing', being 'sidelined' or selling too soon. The truth is that you never know what someone is going through and what they may need to do. I got into crypto in 2017, and instantly fell in love with ZEC. I accumulated all the way through to November 2021 and had no intention fo selling. I became a very vocal advocate for ZEC even while it underperformed in relation to other assets. Then, in November 2021, due to covid impacts, one of my clients shut down while owing me $425K. I then found out my mother had been diagnosed with cancer 48hrs later. I had a choice to either tell my team and all creditors they they will not be paid and crush their Christmas, as well as likely default on mortgages, or begin selling down assets to stay afloat and look after mum. I know I did the right thing at the time, and I am so happy to see ZEC rise and earn the recognition it has rightly deserved for so long, even if I only own a fraction of what I once did.

Is it just me, or does Opus 5 almost feel like it makes mistakes on purpose, just to retract and catch them later to look like it is smart enough to 'catch errors'. Feels like it is consistently making an error of judgement, then catching it half way through the workflow and telling me how it fixed it. @amorriscode @bcherny @AnthropicAI

I still love Fable more than any model available today. It is verbose enough but still succinct when it matters. It values accuracy and first principles with great logic behind each step it takes. I believe that being distilled from Mythos which was given the focus of cyber-security at it's core is what allows this type of ideal balance between speed, logic, and effectiveness. This is because any model that is trained to focus on cyber security capabilities will, by default, understand that long winded answers are not as important as fixing the problem fast and fixing it tightly (considering fringe cases). Therefore, I think this is the problem with Opus 5 and any other model that is purposely made to be less cyber-security capable. @AnthropicAI @bcherny
