Hegseth spouting bollocks again……
Hegseth on Afghanistan: I was a captain in Afghanistan, and we would go to the headquarters in Kabul, and there would be 50 flags at the headquarters. It was a beautiful thing to see 50 different countries contributing to the NATO alliance and the ISAF mission there. Except there were like maybe five that contributed. It was actually closer to one or two that, by the end, were actually involved in kinetic operations. In fact, the ISAF patch, we would joke that it meant "I Saw Americans Fighting."
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Over 1100 non-American soldiers from 31 US-allied countries were killed fighting in Afghanistan, approximately 1/3 of the total combat deaths. t.co/x4tGhxJiFG

Hey @CWGC, visited Montay-Neuvilly Road Cemetery today. Horticulture looking tidy and autumnal BUT the engraving on a large number of headstones was unreadable, even at very close quarters. (continued)

Yes, the sun didn’t help, but some headstones have clearly had some work done on the names at least. Is this cemetery lined up for some reason-engraving? If not, why not?

Neither Cartier-Bresson, Banksy nor Cold War Steve could have come up with such an image. Absolutely perfect composition and lighting (even the road signs are perfect)! 😍

A thoroughly enjoyable evening at the @GreatWarGroup conference in Leeds. @SeaSpitfires told us about the demise of the Kaiser’s fleet and Frank McDonough @FXMC1957 and Paul McGann discussed the impact of the Great War on the Weimar Republic. The quiz that followed was great fun!

The party of billionaires……..
How much longer can trade unions continue donating to @UKLabour I wonder? Reform UK are increasingly the party of working people. Labour are the Benefits Party.

I’ve had some complaints / feedback due to posting too much about the RNLI, and so I have made a very difficult decision. After a great deal of consideration, it is with a great deal of regret that I have decided to carry on posting about them regardless because The Flying Farage Appeal is now at almost £370,000 and it’s my account so if you don’t like it you can just f**k off. Sunday night in Portsmouth, hundreds of men in balaclavas tried to physically stop an RNLI lifeboat bringing shipwrecked people to shore. When that failed, they blocked the buses taking them to processing instead. The Home Office called it thuggish and intimidating. Even Nigel Farage said he "deplores" grown men hiding their faces to intimidate people on Britain's streets. So here's who these volunteers actually are: Last year alone, RNLI crews launched over 9,000 times and saved 272 lives. Migrant Channel rescues have consistently made up around 1% of RNLI launches in recent years. The other 99%? Swimmers, sailors, kids cut off by the tide. People exactly like the ones a masked mob just tried to stop from reaching dry land. An RNLI crew doesn't ask who's in the water before they go in after them. They never have, not since 1824. Blocking a lifeboat with a mob in balaclavas doesn't stop a crossing. It just risks someone drowning while masked men decide who gets to survive. Retweet if a mob should never get to choose who lives. Reply if you've got an RNLI story of your own. Unless you're here to recycle the "taxi service for migrants" line, in which case save your thumbs the effort, the numbers above already buried it.

Doing what is right? So a few weeks back Mrs Fury and I have been to Tesco. Driving back, turn a corner and there’s a body in the road. First thought, “fuck, he/she looks dead” Stop the car at a safe distance with wheels turned into the edge. (D) Jump and a run over while calling out “mate, you ok” (R) advise new bystander to call 999 Do a primary to see if there are any obvious catastrophic bleeds or injuries (C) Check for ability to breathe and any sign of choking (A) Check breathing rate and depth (B) Check for pulse and quality of pulse (C) Any obvious disability (Neurological using GCS) (D) Start to remove garments to check for further unseen injury (E) Continue ensuring any potential neck injury is stabilised and hold head(inside helmet) to prevent agitation of patient causing potential spinal damage, continue to talk to victim to get further info and information about mechanism of injury. Big yellow bus arrives, give them everything we know while taking direction from them if further help is needed. What we did NOT fucking do: Check skin colour, Check ethnic origin, Check to see if they were a criminal, Check who they sleep with, Ask who they pray to, Ask who they voted for, What political party they are a member of, Do they have a lot of money, Have they read harry potter, Do they like J K Rowling, You know why we never asked any of that? Because none of that fucking matters. An individual needed help and we were there to provide that.

I’d love it if the fusty old stock gave the fusty old racists the shits. Boohoo…….
UPDATE I have spoken to the UK distributor of Hayat water, and they have assured me that its registration with DEFRA is pending. I have no reason to doubt this, and they were exceptionally helpful and friendly. However, they did not supply the Reform UK party conference directly so it must have been a customer of theirs. And, in order to have untethered bottle caps, would be selling older stock as all new bottles follow the EU directives with attached caps.

I, Kevin Rowland (the son of Irish immigrants) and the main songwriter of ‘Come On Eileen,’ am disgusted to learn that Nigel Farage has used our song to make his entrance for his party conference. Myself, and all of Dexys are passionately against Farage’s politics. @ByDonkeys .

More Trump bullshit……
Trump: People, especially Patriots from the United States of America, love the name change of Lake Ontario to Lake America! The support has been overwhelming, including affirmation from Google Maps, Apple Maps, and Microsoft’s Bing Maps. Since the name change, business on the United States side of the Lake has been absolutely BOOMING!
