The First World War profoundly affected families & communities in Perth & Kinross. Many soldiers collected souvenirs, often gifting them to loved ones. This French Army M2 Gas Mask from 1918 was a souvenir from Bouillon, Belgium, collected by Lieutenant DT Thomson.

📸 Child's shoe, 1760-1830.
Many families and communities were displaced by landowners during the Highland Clearances in Perthshire. This shoe was excavated from the remains of a cleared home beside Loch Tummel on the Atholl estate.
