As #EconDevWeek closes, we're sharing the economic engine that AGRICULTURE is to Perth Cty! In 2024, Perth farms and agri-food businesses employed 8,185 people and generated $1.5 BILLION in farm cash receipts! Provincially, agriculture generates more GDP than the auto industry!
In prep for the municipal election on Oct. 26, we held two Candidate Info Nights for candidates from the four municipalities & Stratford and St. Marys to learn about nutrient management plans and minimum distance separation, especially near residential areas.

Great to have the @OntarioFarms Board of Directors in Perth–Wellington for a day of farm and agribusiness tours! 🐃🌾
I was pleased to join them for their final stop at Kampkreek Dairy and learn more about this innovative operation and their production of a variety of water buffalo milk products right here in Ontario.
A big thank you to the @PerthCountyAg, the farm families and agri-businesses who opened their doors, and Black Creek Flower Farm for organizing a great day and showcasing the innovation happening across Perth–Wellington. 👏

From ag retail and grain to egg production, equipment manufacturing, dairy and more, the tour highlighted the incredible diversity of Perth County's agri-food sector and the people behind it.
Getting out into communities across the province gives OFA directors valuable firsthand insight into the opportunities and challenges facing farmers and agri-businesses. These perspectives help inform the work of OFA around the board table.
