Never tell anyone about your govt exam preparation.
People are rude out there, they will pass judgement, troll you, suspect you, dismiss you.
Keep it to yourself, work hard.

Learnt a beautiful word today: Anam Cara (Gaelic for "Soul Friend") 🌿✨
People will cycle in & out of your life with time, but an Anam Cara is a connection bound to your core, the kind of presence that stays through every single chapter.
Here’s to the rare ones who stay. 🤍

You’ve seen these images because I posted all of them here already. I just wanted to make a reel and I included a Milky Way photo, which I just realized will probably be my last GC/Milky Way shot this year. I was so busy last weekend during the new moon. I did a family photoshoot for an old friend, then struggled to survive the following days because the whole house was sick. And I just now remembered that I was planning on shooting the moon at the dunes and then somehow, that plan escaped me. Oh well, until next year, I guess.

Every writer has a beginning. A first book. A collection of words that once dared to leave the safety of a notebook and find their way into the world.
Billion Suns Rising was mine.
Looking back, I wonder how much of the woman I was then still lives in those pages, and how much of her has changed.
Perhaps writing is a little like living. We outgrow some words, return to others, and discover new meanings in things we once thought we understood.
My first book. My first little universe of words.
And somewhere within it, the beginnings of everything that came after.

"It is difficult to recognize a pattern when you're immersed in it" – David Olds on 'decentering' for insight.
For example, we thought with reasonable confidence that the earth is the centre of the solar system. Some geniuses could work out the truth by complex calculations – and still many would doubt it. But even an average individual who is in a 'decentered' position outside the solar system could see the true pattern in an instant!
1) you are self aware. You have found reasonable reasons as to why you behave or feel a certain way in certain situations
2) yet you are miserable. If you werent- would you need to look up therapy? You wouldnt!
3) if you know your patterns, if youre reasonably happy and satisfied with your life, if youre functioning well, why do you need a therapist? I wouldnt spend on an asthma pump if i DONT have asthma!
4) If you ARE NOT well- then clearly there are certain things you can be helped with. By a therapist, a psychiatrist, a coach, a psychosocial worker, a friend. In a random order of severity and needs.
