Some slightly different Sunday meditations today in which @mitsuhiko talks about some shared frustrations with agentic software engineering.
Remember that you're not alone in finding it harder than it looks!

My favorite quote from this article: "If you can’t answer those questions without asking the agent to explain its own work back to you, that’s probably a sign that you need to spend a little more time with the change."
Let's at least write the PR descriptions ourselves 🙏
Claude or Codex can write your own PRs but @ryangjchandler thinks you should instead. Read why writing them yourself makes you a better engineer and a better teammate.

We're at a point where coding without an isolation mechanism or sandbox is way too risky.
Use containers at a minimum, VMs if you have enough resources or a remote machine with either of these if you can.

I composed this triumphant “K-Pop” anthem for the newest Bridge Kids episode. Go watch it now!!!
I didn't know the browser could do that these days!
Taking notes✏️
Y'all need to stop SLACKING on your photo upload UIs
If I upload a HEIC, AVIF or literally any format. JUST CONVERT IT IN THE BROWSER
It's the image is too large for you, RESIZE IT IN THE BROWSER
If I drag and image anywhere in your application HANDLE IT INSTEAD OF REFRESHING THE PAGE
We have the technology! Unacceptable
