As you do this, electricity is off in #Mbalwa #Namugongo what time will it be restored @UEDCLTD
We continue dispatching materials to facilitate our field operations as we work round the clock to strengthen weak sections of the network to improve the quality of your power supply. Right now, we have several technical teams deployed in different areas; 💡Responding to faults and carrying out emergency repairs. 💡Replacing and upgrading overloaded transformers, ageing poles and conductors. 💡Executing intensive network maintenance, repairs and vegetation clearance along power lines. While our technical teams are on the network, we are here to listen, pick your feedback and engage with you. We are committed to improving our service to you. #UEDCLinService #LightingUpYourWorld

Widespread power blackouts have become such a challenge in the Country. Recurrent transformer failures have also disrupted businesses, and left many areas without electricity. UEDCL ought to pull up its socks! #KeepingTheGovtInCheck

A Call for Humanity, Justice, and Immediate Medical Freedom for Ssalongo Erias Lukwago It is with a heavy heart, deep concern, and profound indignation that I address the rapidly deteriorating health of my brother, colleague, and senior counsel, Ssalongo Erias Lukwago. Learning that he has been rushed to Mulago National Referral Hospital in critical condition is a painful reality that we cannot and must not take lightly. For months, Erias has stood before the courts of law, visibly weakened, in excruciating pain, and fighting multiple chronic conditions-pleading not just for his legal freedom, but for his fundamental right to live. Doctors at Mulago Hospital have long made it clear that his spinal and respiratory complications require urgent, specialized medical intervention that cannot be provided within our borders or under detention. Yet, the systemic apathy of the state has kept a man whose life hangs by a thread confined to a prison cell. We must ask ourselves: has politics completely erased our collective humanity? Must a person first perish in custody before their right to specialized healthcare is recognized? We bear the deep scars of similar instances in the past where warnings were ignored until it was too late, and we refuse to watch this happen again. As a legal mind and a fellow fighter for justice, I join his family, friends, and millions of Ugandans in demanding that the state respects the medical directives of its own senior consultants. Hon. Erias Lukwago must be granted immediate bail to access the specialized medical care he urgently needs. Detention should never be a disguised death sentence. I pray for comfort for his wife and children during this incredibly trying moment. To Ssalongo, stay strong. The walls of injustice may be thick, but the prayers and solidarity of your people are unbreakable. We pray for your healing, and we will not stop demanding for your right to live.

They failed to deflect and thought resorting to insulting women was an easy road..they have failed miserably and exposed themselves... more people now know who they really are
A man questions pastors, and the men rushing to attack him resort to insulting women. “He talks like a woman,” “gossiping is for women,” “body shaming is for women.” The misogyny is LOUD!! Why is womanhood your favourite insult? You’d think being a woman was a crime. Eeeewww!
102
True. There are many qualified women who serve this country diligently both within& outside the limelight. Unfortunately, some of those in the limelight are a disgrace. The effects of their behaviour unbeknoweth to them creates a backlash against women's leadership.
Its starting to look like a set up. Unfortunately, it reinforces the myths about women's leadership.
102
At this point, it's a values question and acknowledgement that we need to do things differently. This behaviour has been normalized over the years. We need to go back to the drawing board #Uganda
Raw power. How much more investment is needed in real transformative leadership?.

And holding you accountable for your fraudulent ways shouldn’t hoodwink you into thinking we do not know or believe in God. We are alert enough to differentiate goats from sheep! Also be in the know that over jazzing about God and a few scriptures doesn’t make you holy! Do good!

That "minister" should apologize to Dr. Robert Candia. Why humiliate a person like this to feel important?? @Parliament_Ug
Imagine just because of pocketing while talking to a minister, a doctor is treated this way.Fellow Ugandans, for how long are we going to continue being oppressed for doing our jobs? What's goingto happen to the patients who were left strandedin the facility?😭😭cry my motherland

And a minister is more concerned about doctors pocketing...
80 districts have no government hospital. Follow links.monitor.co.ug/Cih6Gz to access e-paper. #MonitorUpdates

Spot on
Dr. Omona, the Ministry of Health should be run by health professionals. People like Hon. Anifa should never be near the ministry of health as minister of state. If you Uganda is to remain on steady progress, ministries that require professionals must be run by professionals. Otherwise more disasters await us.

A country spends years and resources training a doctor, only for a minister to suspend him over perceived disrespect. That is the cost of leadership that confuses authority with ego. When a minister is more concerned about where a doctor places his hands than the state of the hospital, we must question the quality of leadership. Think about the economics of this decision. A country invests years in producing a medical professional. That professional serves in a healthcare system already struggling with shortages. Then someone with political authority potentially removes that expertise from service because they feel disrespected. Who pays the price? The patients. The taxpayers. The institution. And here is the leadership question: Are you building a healthcare system that delivers results, or a workplace where professionals must manage your ego to keep their jobs?

I agree.
That’s the reason why it makes sense that the Ministers of Health should all be ‘Medical Doctors’ who may or may not have ventured into politics and not any political persons who need positions!

Fortunately the PS has overruled the uncouth Minister
