It is a basic principle of American democracy that the government can’t selectively target individuals simply because of their political beliefs or what they say. But that’s exactly what the Trump Administration is doing to Congresswoman Ilhan Omar of Minnesota. To understand why this is so appalling, it’s important to know the facts. Congresswoman Omar came to this country with her father when she was 12 years old. Five years later, her father became a naturalized citizen. If Ilhan had been 18 at the time, she would have had to apply for citizenship separately. But because she was 17, she became a naturalized citizen automatically. Congresswoman Omar went on to graduate from college, work as a community organizer, become the first Somali-American legislator elected to public office in the U.S., and win a seat in Congress. There, she has been one of the Trump Administration’s fiercest critics, which has led the president to repeatedly single her out as someone who he believes does not belong in this country. Now the Administration is actively trying to deport Congresswoman Omar, seemingly based solely on the unsubstantiated theory that she was actually 18 when her father was naturalized, and therefore is not a citizen. Federal agents have raided her home, confiscated personal records, and seized her phone — all to try and uncover a nonexistent smoking gun from 20 years ago that will somehow make their case. Think about that. The full weight of the federal government is being brought down on a law-abiding elected official because she has dared to criticize the president. And it’s not the first time this has happened. Under President Trump, the Justice Department has repeatedly gone after those he considers his political enemies — from the Attorney General of New York, to the former head of the FBI, to members of the Federal Reserve. In those cases, the prosecutions either stalled or were dismissed for having no basis in law, and the same is likely to happen in this case. But not before Congresswoman Omar’s life has been turned upside down, her legal bills have piled up, and she’s been forced to spend time fighting unsubstantiated charges instead of serving the people of Minnesota. The fact that any president, or any administration, is willing to engage in such transparent efforts to intimidate someone should outrage all Americans, regardless of how they feel about Congresswoman Omar’s political views. Because if this becomes the new normal, there’s no reason to believe it will stop with her — or that future presidents, in either party, won’t do the same.

On October 16, 2019, I told Donald Trump, “With you, Mr. President, all roads lead to Putin.” On October 16, 2026, Trump signed an executive order waiving new sanctions on Russia passed by bipartisan majorities in Congress and signed into law just last month. This decision insults America’s commitment to democracy and our brave men and women in uniform, as Russia helps Iran target American forces. I join Republican senators in condemning this unconscionable capitulation to a Russian dictator who illegally invaded Ukraine and butchers innocent civilians. As I have asked for years: What does Putin have on Trump that he would sell out America’s values?

BREAKING: Billionaire Sir Richard Branson unleashes a SCORCHING attack on Trump and his disgusting cozying up to Russian dictator Vladimir Putin. This is EXACTLY the kind of thing that gets under Trump's skin... "I thought I’d never have to say this in my lifetime, but this is 2026, and sadly nothing is what it used to be," Branson, the founder of Virgin Group, wrote on LinkedIn. "The Trump administration has become an appeaser to autocrats and dictators, putting their personal whims before the best interests of the American people and those of the free world. What is it about Putin that President Trump fawns over?" "How will America’s allies ever be able to trust this administration again when they are now turning against them at a time of war and suffering?" he asked. Trump has repeatedly betrayed our Ukrainian allies in recent days. First, he announced a stunning deal with Putin to allow millions of barrels of diesel into the global markets, a move that will directly pump money into the Russian war machine. Then, he began a concerted smear campaign against President Zelenskyy and said that Putin is easier to deal with. The backstabbing escalated when Washington failed to provide its usual early warning to Kyiv of an incoming Russian ballistic missile attack. Now, it appears that the White House ordered a temporary disruption of Starshield, a military version of Elon Musk's Starlink that the Ukrainian armed forces rely upon. "The slowdown of Starlink/Starshield and the inexplicable lack of advance warning of Russian missile launches have already caused Ukrainian civilians to die unnecessarily," wrote Branson. "How much worse can it get?" "If one thing is clear it’s that European leaders must overcome the initial shock about Trump’s recent actions and step up to the plate. It’s as much about Europe’s freedom as it is about Ukraine’s sovereignty. Both are worth fighting for," he continued. "All options should be on the table now, from the transfer of frozen Russian assets to Ukraine to the delivery of advanced weapons systems such as Germany’s Taurus." "Why oh why is this happening? We cannot let the free world be dismantled before our very eyes," Branson concluded. We couldn't agree more. Trump is an enemy to Ukraine, an enemy to democracy, and an enemy to the American people. When Democrats retake power, we have our work cut out for us. Every last trace of this monstrous man's legacy must be erased. Please ❤️ and share if you think that Trump is Putin's puppet!

BREAKING: REVOLT! Six Republican senators SLAM Trump's jaw-dropping "deal" to let Russian diesel flood the global markets despite Putin's ongoing invasion of Ukraine. This is finally a bridge too far for these right-wingers... “The deal you struck with President Vladimir Putin on October 9th will not achieve just ends, nor will it benefit Americans,” the senators wrote to Trump, asserting that the exports "only provides Putin with more fuel to finance his war machine and enables Russia to continue its brutal attacks on Ukrainian civilians.” "Granting Moscow the ability to sell Russian diesel freely in global markets damages American security interests and is a betrayal of the people of Ukraine, who continue to defend themselves from Putin’s murderous, illegal war. This deal is a gift to our adversary and a betrayal of our Allies; it should be rescinded." The signatories are Democrats Richard Blumenthal, Jeanne Shaheen, Dick Durbin, Sheldon Whitehouse, Jack Reed, and Chris Coons. The Republicans are Mitch McConnell (who is admittedly in such a degraded state that we most assume his staff signed on), John Cornyn, Susan Collins, Lisa Murkowski, Thom Tillis, and Alan Armstrong. “Allowing Russian-origin diesel into global markets will offer limited to no relief to Americans. It will have a negligible impact on fuel prices but the revenues the Kremlin will receive from this agreement will undoubtedly finance its desired war of attrition and advance security cooperation with China, Iran and North Korea,” they wrote. Their assertion that this deal could ultimately end up endangering U.S. service members who are fighting in the Iran War because of Moscow’s security cooperation with Tehran is particularly galling. Trump is desperate for this diesel deal because his pointless war has dramatically destabilized oil markets. But by handing Putin this massive gift, he is undermining the very same war that caused the crisis, while at the same time handing Russia money that they can use on more bombs, bullets, and drones to kill Ukrainians. It’s one big tangled ball of incompetence, malice, and bloodshed that could be solved if Trump simply ended his war. “For decades, America has stood as the bastion of freedom against tyranny, and American presidents have embodied our nation’s resistance to tyrants. Putin is a tyrant,” the senators added. “Withdraw from this agreement, rescind General License No. 135, and execute the authorities provided under the Lindsey O. Graham Sanctioning Russia and Iran Act of 2026.” “Maintain our legacy – and the duty America holds – as leader of the free world,” they concluded. Please ❤️ and share if you oppose Trump’s sweetheart diesel deal with Putin!a

Overnight, the Russians used 39 ballistic missiles and more than 120 attack drones and loitering munitions against our energy and critical infrastructure in Kyiv, the Kyiv region, and Kharkiv. A targeted Russian ballistic missile strike specifically against energy infrastructure – the very infrastructure covered by the ceasefire announced by the American President. The strike was entirely deliberate and demonstrative in its scale – Russia has never before shown such ostentatious disrespect toward the United States. Russia does not consider the American President’s statements strong. Unfortunately, at least 600,000 people are now without power. Outages could become even more widespread. Unfortunately, there is significant damage to facilities and equipment – at 26 facilities of our power system and four facilities in the oil and gas sector. I am grateful to the repair crews, all Ukrainian energy workers, and the personnel of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine for all their efforts to address the aftermath of this Russian strike. Tragically, there have been fatalities and injuries. We ask America and EVERYONE in the world who does not turn a blind eye to reality to respond – and to respond forcefully. Russia has squandered the opportunity for de-escalation and has clearly chosen to continue its insane war of annihilation. We ask President Trump to impose STRONG sanctions on Russia, especially since the Lindsey Graham bill, which was recently passed and signed into law, authorizes and regulates such measures. The American President has all the effective and necessary tools to bring peace closer through strength, justice, and pressure on the aggressor. We ask for additional packages of Patriot missile interceptors for Ukraine. It is entirely fair for us to tell the United States, Europe, and all our partners that no country in the world should be left alone to face such a deranged and pro-war actor as Russia. I am grateful to everyone who helps Ukraine! Peace can only come through strength, and we ask America to remember this principle of Reagan’s. Glory to Ukraine!

Kemi Badenoch’s speech tells you one thing: the Tories haven’t changed. Their big plan is to prioritise tax cuts for the wealthiest, whilst having no plan to help ordinary families with the cost of social care. Last week, Andy Burnham set out a very different vision for Britain. We’re preparing to build a National Care Service, with the same principles as the NHS: where everyone contributes and everyone is covered. This will be the biggest change to how the state cares for people since Labour set up the NHS after the Second World War. Why? Because for decades, Britain’s social care system has spiralled out of control. The private care sector has left older people paying care costs which force them to give up all they’ve worked for, or sell their homes, to live in conditions which simply aren’t good enough. This is a crisis - and Labour won’t let it continue. So, our way forward will be to found a person-centred, high-quality care service that starts in the home. Free at the point of use and no care charges paid out of your basic state pension. The Tories don’t want to talk about social care, because they haven’t got a clue how to deal with the problem. Labour will face it head on, and build a care system that gives older people the dignity they deserve.

I want to be honest about how we’ve got to a place where British billpayers are paying some of the highest energy costs in Europe. Over the past 40 years, we’ve given up control of our necessities, outsourced our essentials and privatised the basics. Water, transport, housing. And of course, energy. Now the public are paying the price. We haven’t invested in the infrastructure we need. Conflict overseas has pushed up energy costs and it’s hurting our businesses and families. That’s why we need to take back greater control of our energy system. This week, I announced Great British Grid, which will speed up connections and push down bills. We’re also giving mayors, local leaders and communities a stronger role. With funding for People’s Power projects, communities will be able to build solar panels on libraries and town halls, hydro schemes in rivers or publicly owned windfarms on local land. But it’s not just energy we need stronger public control over. It’s also water, housing, transport and care. So we’re repealing the ban on public ownership of water companies. We’re building more council homes than this country has seen since the end of World War Two. We’re reforming the leasehold system so families aren’t squeezed for every penny. And we’re opening up home ownership for first time buyers who can’t rely on the bank of mum and dad. This week I also announced my determination to introduce a National Care Service, to put people above profit and to give pensioners peace of mind. Together, we’ll rewire the country from top to bottom so that it works for all people in all places. That is the only way to put Britain back on the right path. It’s the only way to put power back in people’s hands. And it’s the only way we will bring hope again.

Manchester City Breaking rules. It has taken the authorities over years to conclude that Manchester city are GUILTY of breaking rules. However the authorities have NOT imposed the punishment. When Spurs were found guilty of breaking rules the punishment was imposed immediately. 12 point deduction, a ban from the FA Cup and a £600,000 fine. My point being is that Man city have not had any punishments imposed and are free to carry on playing. In the case of Spurs and Everton the points were immediately deducted in the appropriate season. Its simple. The rules are you are guilty and here is the punishment. The punishment should be implemented immediately . The process of appeal can then follow.

🚨🎙️| Arsene Wenger slams Manchester City over 114 breaches and calls for the club to be relegated to League Two 🗣️“Let’s be honest about what happened to Arsenal. For years, Arsenal were being told to compete with Manchester City. Spend wisely. Build properly. Follow the rules. Develop players. Be patient. Meanwhile, we’re now sitting here talking about Manchester City being found guilty on 114 of the 115 Premier League charges brought against them. And people still want Arsenal fans to act like none of that mattered? How are you supposed to look at Arsenal’s title battles with City and not ask questions? Arsenal spent years chasing a team that was allegedly breaking financial rules while building one of the strongest squads English football has ever seen. And then Arsenal fans are told, ‘You should have beaten them.’ Beat them with what? Arsenal were trying to build within the rules while City were allegedly operating outside them. If those breaches affected how that team was constructed, then you can’t simply erase that context from the history of those title races. There were Arsenal players, managers and supporters giving everything to win the Premier League while City were winning trophies year after year. So yes, I’m angry. Because Arsenal could have had more. And if the findings ultimately show that those breaches materially affected competitive sporting outcomes, then the Premier League has to take that seriously. You cannot tell every other club to respect the rules and then treat violations at this scale like a parking ticket. If the punishment is severe enough, so be it. Relegation? Points deductions? Titles being reviewed? Whatever the independent process determines under the rules should be dealt with properly. But one thing Arsenal fans are allowed to say is this: WE SHOULD NEVER HAVE HAD TO COMPETE AGAINST A CLUB ACCUSED OF THIS SCALE OF FINANCIAL BREACHES IN THE FIRST PLACE. And City fans can laugh all they want. But if Arsenal lost Premier League titles by the smallest margins while competing against a team now found guilty of 114 charges, you cannot expect Gunners to just shrug and say: ‘Ah well, football is football.’ NO. If the rules were broken, there have to be consequences. And if the consequences are serious enough to send Manchester City down the divisions, then so be it. Arsenal didn’t fail to compete. Maybe Arsenal were competing in a competition where the playing field wasn’t as level as everyone thought.”

I didn’t become Prime Minister to just make a few tweaks around the edges. I want to change the way this country works. For too long, politics became comfortable with the idea that some things just can't be fixed. People sleeping on our streets. Huge inequalities between different parts of the country. Young people unable to afford a home. Communities watching decisions about their future being taken somewhere else, by someone else. Governments have talked about those things. They've even promised to fix them. But too often, they've reached the same conclusion: it just can't be done. I don't accept that, and I never have. That’s why we’ve invested to offer everyone who needs it a route off the streets by Christmas. It's why we've announced the biggest council housebuilding programme since the Second World War. It's why we're opening 159 new mental health centres. It's why we've finally put technical education on par with the academic route. It's why we're delivering the biggest transfer of power out of Westminster and into local communities in a generation. And it's why we opened No10 North too. Not as another government office. But because I believe one thing very strongly: Britain won't be rebuilt from the top down. You have to put power back in the hands of the people and places that know their communities best - and then put the full weight of government behind them. I also want to give people a bit of breathing space too. That's why we've cut tax on electricity bills, capped bus fares at £2, and made subscriptions easier to cancel. It’s why we've cracked down on fake discounts and cut business rates for pubs, social clubs and music venues. And it's why we've extended the 16-17 Saver Railcard and introduced free 24/7 bus travel for disabled people. That is the change we have started. More power for our communities, more support on the cost of living and a long-term plan to rebuild the country. Each one of those changes is part of the same thing. Good growth in every postcode. Reindustrialising Britain. And making sure wherever you live - and whatever your background - you feel this country has a future for you. Because, in the end, that's what this is about: bringing back hope.

A tax on banks could bring down energy bills - and bank CEOs aren’t happy. Banks had an 8% surcharge tax on their profits, but the Conservatives cut it to 3% in 2023. Even just restoring the surcharge to 8% would raise £9 billion over 4 years. A 35% surcharge – the level the Tories taxed profiteering energy companies when oil prices jumped – would raise £60 billion. This money could be used to cut household energy bills by up to £559 a year. Banking CEOs oppose the plan, despite banks making record profits. This quarter Barclays’ pre-tax profits alone were £3.3 billion, up 31%. It’s time to tax banks and bring down energy bills.
