This is objectively true.
Unpopular opinion; No one - literally not a soul - actually enjoys the taste of beer. Not a single human. Those who claim to enjoy beer, donโt actually. Itโs really just a social ritual, a form of self deceptionโฆ the impact of decades of stacked marketing to convince you that beer is anything but an alcohol delivery mechanism. You can enjoy getting sloshed. You can enjoy the social liberation that alcohol offers. You can enjoy the party. But donโt act like you actually like the taste of beer. You donโt. You might think you do. But you donโt. Because it tastes like it looks: bitter dehydrated piss, with bubbles. In the case of Guinness, like diarrhea, with bubbles. And you know it.

If you vote D in November (or don't vote at all) this is on YOU.
NEW: Rep. Delia Ramirez (D-IL) has just introduced her new legislation that would completely dismantle DHS, abolish ICE, and replace it with the โDepartment of Community Safetyโ. The bill would also abolish CBP, which means getting rid of Border Patrol & customs officers at ports of entry at land borders, airports, and sea ports. This would result in completely open borders with no federal agency left to screen or detain people coming into the country both legally and illegally.
Details on the โReimagining Safety Actโ from Rep. Ramirezโs press release:

Jamie Pedersen, door knocking in his district, talking to constituents clearly stated that the full intention is to lower the threshold to encompass many many more taxpayers
"We just need millionaire tax ratified so we can reduce the threshold on folks to $500,000 and then $300,000." - @People4Pedersen while we talked on my doorstep during his door-knocking campaigning.
I spoke w/ @Jim_Brunner and the @seattletimes about this prior to today's story. This income tax threshold will eventually be $0.
And I do think Washington's tax system is regressive. But there has been ZERO reduction in regressive taxes (sales tax, gas tax/CCA) and no relief on property taxes or B&O in any of the massive tax increases of the past five years.
Increasing the tax revenue does not help those in need...it just increases the tax denominator to allow the legislature to say it's "slightly less regressive."

Zinc lozenges are one of the most effective treatments for the common cold.
In a randomized trial, starting them within 24 hours of symptoms shortened colds by 44% (7.1 to 4 days) and cough duration by 58%.

Marc Andreessen reveals why housing, health care, and education keep getting more expensive while everything else gets cheaper
"There's basically three components to the American dream. A house near great job opportunities, great health care for you and your family, and sending your kids to good schools"
"If you disaggregate the economy over the last 25 years, everything that technology touches basically collapses in price. Television sets, computer games, anything with electronics in it. But if you chart housing, education, and health care, the prices of those things are skyrocketing"
"The government restricts supply, zoning laws and university certifications. And then the government responds to the political pressure caused by the rising prices by subsidizing demand. And of course, if you subsidize demand and a fixed supply, you get skyrocketing prices"

Well, that was wild. I'm at the Australian Parliament and just left a meeting with two staffers for the governing party. They told us that the government needed more power to censor things like the upcoming US execution of Nidal Hasan.
When I asked why they needed to censor that video, one said it was to prevent copycat killings. Copycat killings by governments? I asked. Er, no, they said. Copycat killings like of a backpacker, several decades ago.
So, under that logic, I pointed out, the government should censor things like last year's Bondi massacre, where two Muslims killed 15 people, no? Well, that was news, they said. Didn't they realize their bill would allow the government to censor news? They didn't seem to know, or care.
They also admitted that they did not know that the bill would allow the government to create and operate an unlimited number of fake social media accounts to attack its political enemies and spread disinformation. Having presented them with information they had never heard about a bill they had clearly not read, they emphasized to us, strenuously, that they were moving forward with the bill.
So there you have it. The government wants the power to arbitrarily censor scenes of violent crime, or violence, for any reason. And it wants the power to use an unlimited number of fake accounts to wage offensive disinformational warfare against the Australian people.
Given that the Bondi massacre last year increased public opposition to mass migration, and support for the populist One Nation Party, it seems obvious that the government wants to censor such events in order to protect its political power.
It's quite telling how obediently governing party members insist such a law is needed without even knowing what's in it.

Elon Musk was asked at a private dinner what he would do if SpaceX and Tesla both failed simultaneously and he lost every dollar. The question was intended as a hypothetical ice breaker. His answer lasted 8 minutes and the table went silent.
He said he would move into the cheapest apartment he could find, buy a computer, and start building the next thing within 24 hours. Not in a week. Not after processing the loss. Within 24 hours. He said the loss of the money would not bother him. The loss of the companies would devastate him. But the devastation would last one night. The building would start the next morning.
Someone at the table asked what the "next thing" would be. He said he didn't know and that the not knowing wouldn't slow him down. "The thing finds you. You just have to be building when it arrives."
The answer reveals something about his relationship with money that most people misunderstand. Money is not the goal. Money is not even the scorecard. Money is the fuel that lets the machine run. Losing the fuel is a logistics problem. Losing the machine is a psychological one. He can survive the logistics problem overnight. The psychological recovery takes a morning.
This is the same man who put his last $35 million into SpaceX when both companies were failing. He did not diversify. He did not hedge. He put every remaining dollar into the thing he was building because the alternative, having money but no machine, was worse to him than having no money and a machine that might work.
The table at the dinner expected him to say something about resilience or growth mindset. Instead they got a man who described total financial destruction with the same emotional weight that most people describe losing a parking spot. The money is replaceable. The morning is for building. The building doesn't wait for recovery. Recovery IS building.
"The thing finds you. You just have to be building when it arrives." The richest man alive doesn't fear losing everything. He fears stopping.

Why the fuck did Britain sit on this footage for 37 years
WATCH: Britainโs ITN has released ~4 hours of previously sealed 1989 Tiananmen footage โ filmed by the team that smuggled the tapes out of China.
The material, archived for ~35 years, includes a 2-hour crackdown compilation and 90 minutes of secretly filmed raw rushes from the days after, showing military trucks on Beijing streets, crowds, and the aftermath.
