In the course of the conversation, a lady made a comment, and I asked her twice to repeat what she had said. The congregation echoed her response so I could hear her clearly. This does not mean every woman in the church shares that mindset. That moment is being interpreted in ways that miss the context of the conversation. The point was simple: there is a difference between having standards and having expectations that may not be realistic for the stage of life you and your potential partner are in. This was never about telling women not to have standards. It was about understanding that expectations should also be grounded in reality.
