Seven new barn owl boxes were erected in Norfolk yesterday. Two barnies were caught and ringed too.
Our Norfolk estate is giving @AlthorpHouse a run for its money with barnies!
All work done under a Schedule 1 licence.

No sooner had the barn owl chicks fledged at this site, and up pops this little chap!
Little owls do prefer the old trees at Althorp for roosting and nesting, but an old barn is always of interest. He certainly had a good "gander".

Some of our later hatching barn owl chicks got their leg rings today across the estate. We've still more to do in what's been an exceptional year for our Barnies.

One of our barn owl youngsters has fledged this evening. It's one of the three birds born up a corner on an old barns first storey floor.

Our three ringed Althorp Estate Barn chicks are all doing really well. Adult M bird providing the regular feeds - weather permitting. The chicks have their magnificent flight feathers & are beginning to loose their down now.

Barn owls "George and Mildred" have been unsuccessful with their first clutch this season, but its looking as if a second attempt is underway. As long as rodents such as this rat doesn't keep interrupting!

Three of our barn owl chicks banqueting in style this evening. They are growing very well, especially with a constant supply voles and mice being served up. Sound up!

One of our Althorp 'Barnies' brooding her almost bald chicks yesterday. One egg can still be seen unhatched. There's a nice mouse in the "larder" under her tail feathers.

These barn owl chicks & eggs were found on a upper barn floor @ Althorp after hearing them! The parent birds were both present. A remote 4G camera has been set up to check their progress. Anyone interested in this nest and much more please link into Instagram page cpcam26
