🇦🇺 Australian MP Helen Haines was targeted in an attempted assassination and rammed with a car by a radical far-left environmentalist.
She is in critical condition and has lost a leg.
The attack happened outside her electorate office in Wangaratta, Victoria. Suspect Brendan Nugent, 43, was arrested at the scene.
Police are treating it as a deliberate and politically motivated attack.
Haines, 65, was unloading her car when Nugent turned a white Toyota Land Cruiser into the car park, pinned her against her vehicle, then reversed and rammed her a second time.
A local barber pulled Nugent from the car, subdued him, and threw away a knife found in the vehicle.
Haines was airlifted to hospital. After surgery, she lost one leg and doctors are trying to save the other. She remains critical but stable.
Nugent, from Tarrawingee, is known as a radical far-left environmentalist and anti-logging campaigner.
Investigators are reviewing his social media posts, including anti-Israel and pro-environment content. He had previously interacted online with Haines.

🗣️ The Premier League’s officiating standards are becoming harder to defend. 😕🤦♂️
Peter Bankes, a referee from Liverpool, has reportedly never been allowed to officiate Liverpool or Everton matches because of a potential conflict of interest. Yet Chris Kavanagh, who is from Manchester, has officiated several Manchester City games despite previous controversial decisions involving Liverpool.
Now, with City facing an ongoing investigation, Kavanagh is assigned to this fixture. He books Araujo for demanding a yellow card against Guehi, but when Haaland does the same to Gravenberch, no booking follows. 🤔
How are these decisions supposed to inspire confidence in the fairness and consistency of Premier League officiating?
The league needs to ensure that its refereeing appointments are transparent and that the same rules apply to everyone, regardless of the club involved. 😕

Ex City players Sturridge and Richards both admitting the ref has messed up on the yellow cards. Let's call it how it is. For some reason the ref chose to ruin the game

99 points in 2020 and 97 points in 2019. Klopp's also the only manager to reach 90+ points three times without cheating

Something that we find pretty amusing is that some members of Congress seems have stopped trading stock with the midterms approaching.
There were just $25,000,000 of stock trades filed last month, per our estimates.
That's less than half of what we saw in September last year.

BREAKING:
The Congolese migrant who beat the Swedish off-duty policeman Christian Zedig to death in a FIFA World Cup fan zone in Copenhagen was sentenced to 1 year.
The judge also banned Nkumba Tshiembe from going to bars, restaurants, nightclubs and other places where alcohol is served after midnight for a year after his release from prison.
The Congolese migrant is a repeat offender who has previously been sentenced for raping a woman, stabbing a man right next to the heart in a nightclub and several random assaults in public.
The short sentence has caused outrage in Denmark and people are now calling for the law on “simple violence” to be amended so that longer sentences can be issued.
