We’re committing a portion of Anthropic’s shares to the Anthropic Public Benefit Fund, a new wholly owned entity dedicated entirely to the public benefit.
It will start off with 5% of our shares. For every 50% increase in the company’s value over a set baseline, we can contribute up to an extra 2%, subject to our board’s discretion.
In total, this means that roughly 20% of Anthropic’s shares are committed to the public good. Our co-founders have already pledged to donate 80% of their equity, and around half our employees are donating a portion of their equity as part of a donation matching program we’ve run since our founding.
In the post below, we share more details about our new fund.

I would consider helping as an independent evaluator along with the non profit I’m building. Is going to be a crucial role and there aren’t many independent people with substantial technical expertise. I think I represent an important moderate camp on AI capabilities and risks.
We Must Pace the Frontier: I’ve written a new essay on why the AI industry should slow down, with a three-part plan for doing so.
Anthropic is unilaterally committing to the first of these steps. We’ll provide third-party evaluators with permanent, employee-level access to our systems, so that they can verify adherence to our safety measures, report on incidents, and assess models’ alignment during training.

Right. Dario was already claiming that GPT2 was too dangerous to open source back in 2019.
I made fun of them then.
Everyone should make fun of them now.

If you took the most powerful LLM in the world and dropped it into a normal chat interface without any tools…
You would not be impressed by its capabilities, you would in fact be incredibly disappointed with how incapable it was.
Understanding this basic fact is critical to understanding everything else that follows…
Literally all issues attributed to unsafe AI, come from one of a few buckets. Poor engineering. Improper empowerment. Or improper use.
None of them come from LLMs inherently being these dangerous, over powered, or uncontrollable things.
It’s all just normal people making dumb mistakes, or poor decisions, and it’s easier to blame inference than to acknowledge incompetence.

I resigned from Apple today. I spent the last three years doing foldable research at both google and apple. Neither company is acting responsibly. They are racing straight to self-improving foldables and gambling with our lives. More thoughts below.

Lightning strikes for continuous and long-run agents!
Nemotron 3.5 Lightning is smart, fast, efficient and open.
Introducing NVIDIA Nemotron 3.5 Lightning⚡
An open 30B MoE model with 3B active parameters, built for always-on agents to complete high-volume, specialized tasks faster.
It delivers up to 4x the output speed of similar-sized models.

Today we're also opening the weights for Muse Glimmer, a great 30B parameter dense model that can run locally. Soon we'll also release the weights for Muse Spark 1.2, our latest foundation model. Meta is a strong supporter of open source and I'm proud of these releases. Congrats to @alexandr_wang and the MSL team for all your great work on these models.

Releasing Muse Code in beta today. It's a terminal coding agent that takes on complete software engineering tasks across large repos: planning changes, writing code, validating the results. Powered by Muse Spark 1.2, a coding-focused model update.

We're open-sourcing Mixture-of-Kittens (MoK), our MoE training megakernel for NVL72s.
It fuses all Mixture-of-Experts communication and computation into a single, fully deterministic kernel, and runs up to 2.37x faster than the strongest public baselines.

Fifteen years ago, @Coursera and online courses changed education. It worked better than almost anyone expected, expanding access by opening up where you can learn. But how you learn remains largely the same as it has for centuries: it is still one-size-fits-all, taught the same way to each person who shows up.
We now have an opportunity to change how learning happens. With advances in AI, we can now build a custom learning guide for each person. We will turn learning from one‑to‑many to one‑to‑one. I'm starting LearnVector to invent this next generation of learning. We are starting with a $100M investment from Coursera, and plan to collaborate closely with Coursera and Udemy.
Good learning needs much more than just a chatbot. Research shows that chatbots without guardrails harm learning. They help complete tasks and enable students to do better on homework. But cognitive offloading to a chatbot results in them being less skilled. And, you cannot always trust what a chatbot tells you.
In contrast, LearnVector will plan a path with you, adapt to how you learn, and patiently stay with you until you’ve mastered new skills.
One thing has not changed in all this time. People want learning they can trust: material that is accurate, relevant, and worth the effort you put into it. Anything less wastes the most valuable thing a learner has: time. Coursera has a trusted library of materials from authoritative sources. LearnVector plans to work with Coursera to bring this trustworthy learning to everyone. I'm grateful to Greg Hart and the entire Coursera team for supporting LearnVector.
I look forward to working with our talented team to change how we learn, and accelerate human development.
